Chapter 22: a fun time

As i was driving over to the restaurant my father was making a reservation.
I had to drive slow since my father forced me.
After another 5 minutes my father was done and we had our reservation.
"Can i drive a little faster now?" i ask my father looking at him through the mirror.

"No, you're driving the speed limit or you're not driving." he said.
I just agreed and we arrived at the restaurant after 20 minutes.

After we arrived we headed inside and sat down.

"So tell us how you started dating Wednesday." my father said looking at me.
"Oh uh it's complicated.." i said looking over at Wednesday who sat next to me.
"Good thing we have alot of time." he said with a smile.
I looked over at Wednesday not knowing what to do.

"Well i realized i started feeling stange emotions around him and decided to ask him for help to figure it out. Turns out i liked him, after that we started dating." Wednesday says.

"So you're telling me in order to get a girlfriend all i have to do is help them with their emotions?" my brother asks confused.
"No you actually need a personality for that." i said smirking

"Then how did you do it?" he asks.
"Really?" my father asks annoyed looking at both of us.

"Sorry." my brother said trying to hold his laugh.

After 5 more minutes of talking our food and drinks had arrived.

After 2 hours we finished eating and we left the restaurant.
"Alright Y/n we are gonna drop you and Wednesday of at the train station so you guys can get back to Jericho." my father said holding out his hand for the car keys.
I was feeling tired and just agreed.
We and Wednesday were sitting in the backseat whilst my father was driving and my brother in the passenger seat.
After 30 minutes we arrived at the train station.

"Y/n before you leave, i heard what happend with your phone so i wanted to give you this." my brother said handing me a box.
"Thank you." i said grabbing the box with a smile.
After i opened it i found a brand new iphone 14 inside.
"Thank you." i said with a smile.
"Ofcourse enjoy the rest of your time at Nevermore." both of them said.
We just nodded and got out the car.
After that we headed inside to get tickets.
The line was really long and the train left in 10 minutes so we just decided to skip the tickets.
We were now sitting on a bench waiting for the train to arrive.
"I just realised something if there was a train going from Jericho to here why did we have to drive?" Wednesday suddenly asks.
"I have no clue but it had to have had a reason." i said chuckling slightly.

After waiting for another 5 minutes the train arrived.

After we got on we found a seat in the back and sat down.
After another minute the train left.
We had barely left the station and Wednesday was already sleeping on my shoulder.
I was really tired too and layed my head ontop of hers and drifted off to sleep.
--2 hours later--

I was suddenly woken up by the train comming to a stop.
As i look outside i can see we had arrived at Jericho.
I gently woke up Wednesday and we got off the train.

We were greeted by Weems.

"Y/n i heard what happend..." she said.
"About what my arrest or my dad?" i ask confused.

"The arrest.." she said.
"He deserved it." i said with a slight smile.
"Well as punishment you are under house arrest until the break." she said looking serious.

"Fine it's only 5 more weeks." i said rolling my eyes being too tired to fight it.

After we got in the car and she drove us to Nevermore.
We headed straight to our dorm since we we weren't in the mood to talk to anyone.
"God i never thought i would miss this dorm room." i said walking in.
"Me neither." Wednesday said walking over to her desk.

I sat down on the bed and pulled out the phone my brother gifted me.
I started setting up the phone when suddenly we heard a knock at our door.
"I'll get it." i said standing up and walking over to the door.

As i open it i found Ajax, Enid and Xavier standing there.

"What are you three doing here?" i ask confused.
"We wanted to check up on you guys since you have been in jail for 3 months and Wednesday hasn't exactly been doing too well without you." Ajax said.
I just stood there with a smile.
After a couple seconds i could sense Wednesday standing behind me.
"And who told you you were alowed to reveal that information to Y/n." she said annoyed.
"Cmon Wednesday it's not like we told the entire school your darkest secret, we just told Y/n that you missed him." Xavier said with a smile.

I had moved out of the way and was now just enjoying the drama.
After a couple more seconds they invited themselves in.

"How about we play some games." Enid said excited.
"Fine by me." i said looking at the rest of my friends.

"Yea same here." both Ajax and Xavier said.

"Wednesday?" i ask looking over at her.
"Fine but only for a short while." she said.
After that Enid left to go grab some board games.
We sat down in a circle.
Wednesday was sitting to my right, and next to her was Xavier, next to him was Ajax and next to would be Enid.

After a few minutes Enid had come back with some games.
"So what should we play first?" Enid asks excited.
Me and Wednesday didn't really care and let the others choose.
After a few minutes they decided on uno.

The first round lasted pretty long but i ended up winning.
"Looks like i'm just the best." i said putting down my final card.

"No fair! You cheated." Enid pouted.
"No you're just bad." i said laughing a little.
After arguing for another minute we decided to play something else.
"How about truth or dare?" Xavier says with a smirk.
"No, you just want an excuse to make out." i said rolling my eyes.
"I say we give it a try." Enid said with a smirk.

"Fine but the moment Xavier tries something with Wednesday the game stops." i said looking serious.
"But Y/n that ruins the whole point of the game." Xavier said annoyed.
"It's either this version or we play something else." i said looking at him with a smile.
"Fine." Xavier said rolling his eyes.
After that we started playing.
At first everything was going fine and we were just having fun until Xavier dared Enid something..

"Enid truth or dare?" Xavier asks.
"Dare!" Enid said confident.
"I dare you to kiss Y/n." he said with a smirk.
"No." i said looking over at Xavier annoyed.
"Rules are rules Y/n." Xavier said shrugging.
"I would agree if only i didn't have an amazing girlfriend." i said grabbing Wednesday's hand.

"And not to forget Enid and Ajax are dating." i added.

After that Xavier was kicked out since nobody agreed with his behavior.
"We should have never trusted him again." Ajax said annoyed.

"Agreed." i said looking over at Wednesday who was surprisingly sitting there with a smile.

"Why are you smiling?" i whisper in her ear.
"I'm just glad you acted the way you did." she said.

"Ofcourse i could never do something like that to you." i said with a smile.
She then leaned in closer and just as she was about to kiss me Ajax fake coughed.

"We're still here you know." he said rolling his eyes.
"Then leave." i said annoyed before kissing Wednesday.
After a few seconds i could hear them leave.
Wednesday pulled away after a couple more seconds.
"Is it ok if i write? It is my writing time now." Wednesday asks me.
"Ofcourse i'll just need compensation afterwards." i said with a smile.
"Consider it done." she said winking before she walks over to her desk.

I just started smiling.
I stood up from the floor and started setting up my phone again.

After an hour i was done and had been scrolling on tiktok when suddenly Wednesday grabbed my phone out of my hand.

"You have earned your reward for waiting." she said with a smile.

'This is going to be an interesting night.'
