This was not on my 2025 bingo card.
"I WANT YOUR LOVEEE AND I WANT YOUR REVENGEEEEE!"
Gahyeon, to no one's surprise, had the entire place wrapped around her pretty little finger.
"YOU AND ME COULD WRITE A BAD ROMANCEEEEE OOOOOHHH"
And beside her, none other than her very own hype-woman.
Seulgi.
Down on both knees, hair draped over one side of her face, screaming into the mic like the rent was due before the clock struck midnight.
It's 2 in the morning by the way.
Rows of silhouettes mirrored the wave motion Gahyeon started, going side to side, while they hopped around onstage. Even the DJ couldn't help himself, who bless his sweet lil heart, looked wildly out of place but just happy to be there.
"OOOH CAUGHT IN A BAD ROMANCE!!"
Their passionate singing even had the folks sitting around my bar amused. Lady Gaga reminds us all once again that we're just meant to be who we are.
leave it to her to go from uno war to lady gaga connoisseur, My gaze dragged away from the duo I call bestfriends, down to the glass in hand. A vodka cranberry topped with mint leaves.
I smiled, ushering the glass forward. "Please enjoy"
And the night went on like that. The usual Friday, ya know.
"So. . .when were you gonna tell me you actually worked here?"
Obsidian hair. Glittery eyes. Fragrance like sandalwood and amber and bonfires. The smug look of someone gathering intel for future blackmail. Or free drinks.
"Before my co-worker cussed me out in spanish," I gestured toward the woman beside me.
Gabriela stood there, knife in hand, brows raised in question. Sliced lemons and limes sat on the cutting board beneath her.
"Qué coño pasa?" She chuckled, almost innocently, as her knife came down on another lemon and sliced it in half.
The girl and I glanced at each-other quick, fighting back our laughter because honestly that was kinda scary to witness. But more power to Gabriela tho, girl know's how to use a knife well.
"See? Being cussed out. Again"
Laughter finally broke free from her voice. It sounded nice. Real nice. Like being at a festival surrounded by people who truly knew how to have fun without a care in the world.
And when her laughter lulled to a lopsided beam, those glittery eyes had my entire attention.
"Uh-huh. And you were just gonna let me stand there and offer you a drink, knowing you'd be the one to make it", she leaned forward, tone teasing.
I leaned away with a smile. "You'll live"
She rolled her eyes, a small harmless huff, and took a seat.
Gabriela giggled as she passed by. Mumbling something under her breath in spanish that sounded suspiciously like 'you're crazy'. Or something. Dunno. Honestly not fluent.
When I bent down to store some glasses underneath, a familiar face and voice caught my attention. Her hair now dyed a muted silver compared to the auburn she'd often wore.
"One thing Y/n's gonna do is keep up the mystique. That's for damn sure" Francheska barked out a laugh, one arm lazily hooked around an empty stool.
That's Francheska, a proud grandmother to her 3 year old granddaughter that keeps her young and active despite complaining about her late-50's catching up to her fairly quick. She's here every Friday and Saturday... a rare Sunday if her husband decides to 'annoy the fuckshit outta her'.
