Wreaths dusted with snow and plaid bows. Cream colored, icicle shaped lights hovered intimately over the dancefloor. A makeshift photobooth consisting of one stand, an ipad and ring light posed near the entrance. No fake snow this year. Thankfully. But lots, and lots of red & green balloons.
Under the stage lights stood an odd duo. One donning an all green Nike tracksuit, ears elven with light-up reindeer antlers that bobbed every time he moved. The other hoisted a red sack of god knows what inside, an unlit cigar between her lips, santa hat tilted off to one side.
"HO HO HO!", Seulgi yelled into the mic, smiling all too wide for someone only one tequila shot in at 9pm.
Jay B gave her a look before raising his hand in the air waving.
The only people here were Jennie, Daniela and I and some of the other staff preparing for tonight's 'Christmas Ball'. Something Jennie thought would be nice to see for once, people dressed to the nines instead of in t-shirts and ripped jeans.
"Great!" Jennie clapped. An eyebrow jumping in that not so great way. "That was really, really great. . . Seul, could you maybe get rid of the cigar tho? It's throwing off the whole 'Innocent Santa' shtick, y'know what I mean?"
Seulgi plucked the cigar from her lips, sassily. "No, boss, I don't know what ya mean"
Then just like that, two idiots started arguing at eachother from across the room. Everyone pretty much cleared out, moving quick toward the rooftop door, free from JenSeul's misdirected sexual tension in the form of bickering, annoyance, until their hands and lips miraculously find themselves tangled together.
Daniela shot a look of disgust over her shoulder.
Jay B threw off his light-up antlers and walked off stage. Mumbling under his breath about not getting paid enough to tolerate any of this.

She never did get rid of that cigar. Still unlit, still unbothered.
An envelope slid across. Uncolored with nothing but a poorly drawn smiley face on the front. It's the thought that counts, always. "That's high praise from you, Miss Kang. Tell me more", I drawled with an eyeroll, careful not to twist whatever internal list Seulgi has me on into blacklisted.
She scoffed, "Don't get used to it."
"Wouldn't dream of it..." I whispered, opening the envelope. The words hit me first; VIP. Then the year and date; 2026 XX February. Shock, confusion, then complete utter laughter because honestly, what the fuck. "Seulgi... you're fuckin amazing, you know that, right?"
Two concert tickets. For thee incredible talented Tinashe that for reasons unknown are insanely hard to get for anyone, yet sat right below us.
"This is literally what i've been wanting, for like, forever—" If a tear ran down my face. No it didn't. "—Thank you. Really. I know these couldn't have been easy to get...", I said, voice wobbly.
