Aspen:TW

"I'm fine," I croak out to Asher and Lorenzo, trying to find somewhere to put out my cig.

"Why do we smell smoke, Aspen?" Lorenzo asks innocently, tapping on the door again.

"Someone's having a fire outside." I call out before face palming myself. No one lives near us and the whole forest behind is apparently our land (according to Asher).

"WHAT! Lorenzo go alert Alexander."

OH SHITTTTT.

I hear loud footsteps rushing towards the third floor and I cringe as Lorenzo calls for Alexander.

This will not end well.

I put out my cig out the floor, stomping on it before picking it up and throwing it over the balcony.

"Can you let me in, Aspen?" Asher calls out.

"I wanna be alone." I tell him, wanting nothing more than to grab my blade.

"I know I know." He sighs reluctantly and goes quiet. Moments later, Alexander is storming down the stairs with the rest of my brothers, calling out for guards.

In seconds, guards rush outside and I see them from over my balcony. I wave to them before slapping myself. Why? Why would I do that?

A guard comes closer to my balcony, looking up to me.

"Did you see anything, miss?" He asks politely.

My eyes immediately flick to the cigarette resting next to his boots and I cringe as his eyes follow mine. Looking up at me, he gives me a sympathetic glance.

He was going to tell Alexander.

I rush inside my room as I watch him pick up the walkie talkie. I lock the balcony doors, check my bedroom door before placing my desk across it and then grabbing my backpack, rushing into the bathroom. I lock that door too.

"ASPEN GRACE WARD!" I hear Alexander boom from outside my door. "LET US IN THIS INSTANT."

I whimper from the bathroom floor, shaking like a leaf. I reached for my razor in my makeup bag, a few wouldn't hurt. It can't.

One, two, three, four, five.

Then I hear somebody punch through my bedroom door. Quickly pulling down my sleeve, I hide the blade back in my bag.

If I was going to get caught, I need to do everything I can to lessen the beating. Cigarettes is one thing, self harm is another. I already know which causes me to be tortured the most.

"SHIT! SHE PUT HER DESK IN FRONT OF HER DOOR." Axel screams out, sounding rather panicked.

Why's that bitch ass panicking?

"ASPEN! ASPEN!" Lorenzo cries out as I hear them enter the bedroom. I clutch my bag tighter, rocking myself back and forth.

"BATHROOM!" Thanks a lot, Asher.

"Bambina," Alexander pants out, "let us in."

I choke on a sob.

"Come on, Sweetheart." Elijah begs and my heart falls to my stomach.

Tears run faster down my face and I try to pull myself together. If you're crying, they'll know its more than a packet of cigs.

Shaking, I bring myself to stand as the others pound on the door.

"I'll be out in a second."

All banging stops and complete silence fills the room. I put on the cold water, washing my tear stained face and my new cuts that sting like hell. They were deep, incredibly deep. Hell, the might even need stitches. For now, i'll ignore them.
