You get me so high - the Neighbourhood

''if we can leave it all behind us,
and meet in between.''

Amelia groans loudly as she looks over the S.H.I.E.L.D files she had thrown on the ground earlier.

The agent and Captain Rogers had been busy with this mission for at least two weeks, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't crack it.

Amelia absolutely hated this, she wasn't used to not knowing the awnsers.

She mutters everything she already knows about the case to herself. But as she's talking to herself, something clicks.

'Holy shit.' She whispers to herself as realisation dawns on her. 'Holy shit.' She whispers again. 'Shit, that's it.'

She finally cracked the fucking case.

This was what her life was like after the attack on New York.

She and Natasha would do missions for S.H.I.E.L.D together, Clint had taken some time off to spend with his family.

And about a few months after the Avengers first assembled, Captain Rogers joined S.H.I.E.L.D. And Amelia and Steve were now forced to work together even more.

They had both been shipped to Washington, D.C. and lived in the same apartment complex. And Amelia hated every second of it.

To put it lightly, she and Steve were still not getting along. And to tell the truth, she and Steve hated each others guts. Even more so than during their time of the New York attack.

Amelia's mind wanders to some of their arguments, and there were a lot.

'Right.' Amelia snickers at the Captain. 'I forgot about your ego. Sorry I stole your thunder, soldier.'

Steve rolls his and groans loudly. 'I don't have an ego, it's not about that. This mission was dangerous and you shouldn't've gone in there alone.'

Amelia chuckles. 'Like you care.' Captain Rogers gives her a glare. 'No, i don't care. Quite frankly, I'm really looking forward to the day of your funeral. But I'd hate to be the one to cause it.' Steve told her.

This didn't faze Amelia in the slightest, God knows she had said way worse things to Steve.

'Alright, geez. Get your star spangled panties out of a twist, Capsicle.' Amelia snickers at the soldier.

'If you don't shut up right now, I will make you. Right now.' Steve spits out.

Amelia shakes away her thoughts and quickly gets up, running to Steve's apartment. Passing her neighbour Kate on the way.

'Hey, Kate.' She said, not slowing down. Of course Amelia knew that Kate was not the woman's real name.

No, her real name was Sharon Carter. And she worked as an undercover agent for S.H.I.E.L.D, agent 13.

No one had told Amelia this, but the genius pretty much figured it out in the first week. The Agent was assigned to protect Captain Rogers.

So, to keep up the lies, she just called the woman by her undercover name. Kate.

Finding herself in front of Steve rooms, she doesn't bother to knock. Too exited that she finally cracked the case.

She flings open the door, and in front of her stands Steve Rogers, wearing just a small towel that is tied around his waist.

Steve looks up at the door flinging open in shock, but his face quickly softens as he sees it's Amelia, before an annoyed expressions takes over his face.
