Moments later since we signed out of Ms. Juliana's work. It had been five hours since I lost my mother. I still couldn't process the thought of losing the closest person in my life. She loved and cared about me so much. Now she's physically gone. But she's still with me mentally.
I was relieved that Juliana had offered to let me stay at her place. She was a very nice woman. I started to trust her a little bit more as we drove to her house.
She got to know me and I got to know more about her. She said I can stay with her as long as she can get in contact with my father, the only parent I have left. I did have a family but they live far away from us.
Fifteen minutes later we arrived at Ms. Juliana's place. Her place was actually very close to the high school. Ms. Juliana lived in a small medium brown house with a black roof. Her house was beautiful.
I took a deep breath. Juliana opened up her trunk so I could get my stuff. I reach for my bike, the very last thing in the minivan and carefully walk it out.
"Do you have a place where I can put my bike?" I ask politely.
"Yes, you can put your right in there." She points to her garage where it appears to have a handle to open it. In her garage I spotted a huge purple bike that I thought might be Ms. Juliana's.
Juliana's garage was very clean with a bunch of canvases on a table and a box of paintbrushes. Ms. Juliana must be into art. Wait until I tell her about my crossword puzzle book.

Soon I was guided to the guest bedroom which Juliana says is my bedroom for now. It was a small room with a bed that was already made, a dresser, and a desk with four drawers. Next to the mirror was a huge window covered with light blue curtains. This room was so cute.
"Make yourself at home, Leah." Ms. Juliana hands me my bag and a few nutrition bars for snacks, and a bunch of clean clothes.
"Thank you, I appreciate this." Juliana nods and gives me a big smile. "You're welcome, Leah. If you're hungry later on, help yourself to my fridge." She chuckles. I giggle.
"I hope you are comfortable here, it'll be my job to make you as comfy as possible while you're with me." Ms. Juliana was so kind. I am lucky to have a place to stay and clean clothes. This place is so much nicer than our trailer back in Tiverside. I am so grateful Ms. Juliana found me. Not to mention I'm closer to the high school in Tiverside. I did have a lot of questions to ask Ms. Juliana, but I just want to get some rest. My eyes are still puffy and my arm still hurts.
Before I decided to take a nap, I unpack a little. I started going through my duffle bag and shuffled stuff around. I took out a pair of earbuds and hung them on the nightstand near my bed.
Next was a few pairs of outfits I packed before the road trip, but a lot of my clothes are at my old house.
At the bottom of my bag I pull out a picture frame of my mom and I again. I tried to hold my tears back so I lay on my bed and wrapped the frame in my arms, holding it tight. Within a minute I drift off to sleep.
