. . .

"NANNYY! WE GOT A LETTER!!"

The child ran with his tiny little feet to the older lady who raised an eyebrow at him. "Slow down, brat. If ya fall, I'm not gonna fix up yer knee again." She snatches the letter that was held up from his hand for her to take.

"NanNy!! That was only one time!" The boy pouts.

"Yea, and you best not be 'bout to make it be a second time." She roughly patted his head before sending the child his merry way.

A letter, huh?

Letters were rare in the orphanage.

The nanny hummed curiously, wondering if maybe one of her brats got kidnapped and this was a letter asking for ransom.

She hopes it's Bob, he's always been kinda annoying and he pees his pants a lot.

Realizing that she did an attendance check just that morning and Bob and everyone else were indeed extant, she quickly crossed out the possibility to the letter being a ransom asking.

Roughly tearing through the envelop, she found a crumbly looking yellowish paper.

Hey Miss Nanny,

!?

Nobody calls her Miss Nanny except...

...!

The nanny held then paper closer to herself, reading through it more seriously.

I know it's been long,

If it is who she thinks it is, then...

No shit, the nanny cursed under her breath, the audacity to just send a letter of all things! She will give this brat a punch to the stomach next time she sees him!

And I know you'll probably hit me the next time you see me.
But I wanted to say a few things.

The nanny nodded her hear along to the letter, knowing she will give him a good old punch.

Wait.

Why does this letter make her sound like a violent person and how does he know what she's gonna do!?

And by the way, she's the most gently being in Earth, mind you!

Firstly, I would like to apologize.

...

I know I disappeared out of nowhere.
I shouldn't have run away, especially without any explanations, note, or anything at all.

The nanny's free hand went to her hair, and she slicked her greying hair back in stress, feeling a headache coming in.

She sighed.

...At least the brat acknowledged it.

I'm sorry for that. I'm sorry for leaving without any explanations.
I hope you were able to take care of yourself and the orphanage when I wasn't there, though I'm sure you managed quite well even without me.

...

Damn right she did!

She mighta been a little bit old, but her good old muscles weren't for nothing!

Secondly, I've realized that you don't know where Mom was buried,
I'm even more sorry for that.

I thought that Auntie [the lady with anger issues who wanted to adopt me] would've told you, but I've realized that she doesn't know that you know Mom personally.

The nanny clenched the letter in her hand, knowing she hadn't been able to visit her grave.

Inko...

The picture of a smiling woman flashed in her head.

Her heart ached a little, but she continued reading.

Thank you for everything you've done for me.
I've always been a bit of a brat, but I appreciate you putting up with my mourning and rebellious attitude.

I'm still trying to move on, and it's been a little hard, but I'm in a safe place, so please
don't worry about me being in danger.

I promise I'll visit soon, and talk to you in person about everything.
Pinky promise^^.

With love and your punches,
Izuku.

PS, be a little gentler to the kids, will you?
Please also tell them that I'm sorry I couldn't come for Christmas this year.

PPS, buy them some sweets from me,
thanks.

*Attached money in envelop*

The nanny tightly held the paper in her hand.

Izuku...

...!

She raised her eyebrow, realizing there was something written in the back in extreme small hand writing.

I'm finally happy.

...

...A smile grew on her face.

That brat.
