Y/n stepped out of her car and grabbed her bag before shutting the door. Her eyes were focused on the infamous brick building that she never thought she'd be back to. She adjusted the bag on her shoulders before heading towards the back door.
Y/n physically jumped when the door opened. Candy noticed the jump and furrowed her eyebrows. Y/n was relieved to see her best friend there rather than the woman who haunted her.
"I wasn't expecting you for another hour," Candy said and held the door open for Y/n. "You know you don't have to be here early like before, right? Shirley and I don't care if you're here five minutes before you go on, as long as you're here."
"I figured I needed to have my mental breakdown with plenty of time to get ready," Y/n said sarcastically. The young woman made her way inside and through the familiar hallway. Her eyes landed on the door to her dressing room.
The black star with the name 'Grey Diamond' was still on the door like she remembered. Of course, in Dallas's handwriting. Y/n took a deep breath in before opening the door. She scanned the room with her eyes, looking at each micro detail. It was like nothing had changed. Everything was right where she had left it.
"You seem to have a type. I don't blame you for wanting to find a copy of me."
"You look beautiful. Always the most perfect girl in the room."
"I can come help you take it off if you'd like. I'm sure FBI wouldn't mind."
"Y/n?" Candy called out again, effectively snapping the young woman out of her thoughts. Y/n turned and looked at Candy with an empty expression. She stood there frozen in time, too scared that if she moved, she'd be forced back into that time with Dallas again. "Are you okay? Come here, let's get you to sit."
"N-No, I'm okay," Y/n said and stood her ground. Candy nodded her head as she leaned against the doorframe of the dressing room. She didn't believe Y/n, but didn't want to pressure the young woman further. She was already doing her a massive favor. "I—I think I just need to switch rooms. It's—It's too much, too many memories."
"Take mine," Candy said and gently tugged Y/n's arm back. The young woman was thankful to be pulled away from that room. "I owe you for the favor. Since you came early, we can have you moved over here in no time."
Candy opened the door and showed Y/n the similar room. However, since the layout was slightly different, it gave Y/n peace. Something so simple as the vanity being on the opposite side of the room was something she was thankful for.
"One more thing, Candy," Y/n said and adjusted the bag on her shoulder. Candy hummed and tilted her head up. "Do you have a lighter?"
"Please tell me you haven't jumped down the nicotine hell hole. I'd prefer if you were drinking your heart away like a normal person," Candy said and crossed her arms. Y/n chuckled and shook her head. "If I say I do, will you burn this place to the ground?"
"Not necessarily," Y/n said and smiled innocently. She walked over to the vanity and dropped the duffel bag onto it. When she opened it, she started to pull out various new costumes, a new mask, new jewelry, new everything.
