Sighing, you stretch your arms forward and extend your legs, groaning slightly at a nice stretch. You laid on the grass for a minute, letting your body rest for a few more seconds before sitting up and rubbing your eyes. You quickly blinked them open when you felt something fall into your lap, making a ghost of a smile form on your lips. You reached your hands down and carefully picked up the fluffy white jacket and gripped it with slightly tight knuckles.

Right, you weren't home.

You sighed and let your grip on Cross's jacket loosen, carefully placing it back into your lap. You dusted the jacket off, slightly grimacing when your hand hovered or touched the purple bloodstains at the bottom, and folded it as best as you could. Gathering the jacket under your injured arm, you pushed yourself up from the grass and looked around. You couldn't remember where you fell asleep, but what you do remember was Dream soothing you to sleep with his warm aura.

Squinting your eyes at the ground at the thought of Dream, you thought over what he told you last night, and how vulnerable you let yourself become around him. Scoffing to yourself, you decided to look around, you'll think and dwell on the Dream situation later on. Right now, you need to find Cross and return his jacket.

Much to your surprise, you found that the field you had fallen asleep in was empty. The fire was neatly put out and there wasn't a skeleton in sight. Slowly, you grew a sudden fear, gripping Cross's jacket tighter as your eyes kept darting around the open area. You were out in the open with no weapon and no one to aid you in need, and there was an oddly dark aura covering the tree line.

Without much thinking, you backed away from the tree line that gave such aura and slowly started to walk towards the other tree line, hopping that whatever was on the other side wouldn't follow you. You kept turning your head back every now and then just to double check. With every head turn, you would occasionally glance up at the sky, the stars never seemed to shift from their spot.

Squinting at the sky, you couldn't help but wonder how long you've slept. It couldn't have been that long, as it was still dark out, and the moon had just reached the peak of the sky. Or maybe you slept a little too long... You had a habit of doing that when you went through stressful situations.

Soon, you reached the treeline and shot one last look backwards, nothing. Nodding to yourself, you pushed yourself into the treeline and started to slowly maneuver your way through the rather dense forest. Where you were going was a mystery, but you just didn't want to be stuck in the open field much longer, so going out to search for Cross or Dream would be your best option.

As the night dragged on, colder breezes slowly started to sweep past you and tickle your skin, dragging scents of pine and blood into your nose. Wrinkling your nose a little, you sighed and untucked Cross's jacket from under your arm and unfolded it. Though you thought it might've been rude to just throw on Cross's jacket so carelessly, you were cold. Plus, Cross left it on you to begin with, so he surely mustn't mind, right?

Though Cross was relatively shorter than you, only reaching your shoulder, his jacket was almost the perfect size for you. It didn't seem to bulky on him, it fit him rather snuggly last time you saw him wear it, and it was almost the same for you. Though the sleeves were short, you don't exactly know why, his jacket did reach your hips and provided some sort of warmth to you. You pulled up your detachable sleeves a little more, trying to warm yourself up just a little bit more. You avoided touching the bloodstains and continued on your way, a little bit warmer than what you previously were.
