𝑯𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒅 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒏 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒐 𝒂 𝒔𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒎𝒖𝒔𝒆𝒖𝒎 and brought her to her favorite type of cuisine restaurant, Italian. Now it was only fair she did something for him too.

If possible rather far away from a crowd that might recognize them - or with no crowd at all.

With a couple of phone calls, Charlie always got she wanted.

The idea had came into her mind since their first date.

James dropped his lips to hers, kissing the smile out of her face.

He hadn't stopped kissing her since their last date and honestly, he didn't know how he still hadn't fucked her already.

One time they were close from doing it in the elevator of her building, the taste of her cinnamon latte intoxicating on her plumping lips. But James found the doors had opened to the busiest floor of the whole damn building way too early for his liking. The mess of her hair and the flush of her cheeks - for which he was entirely responsible, gave them away to deal with some very curious looks from the other employees.

Good thing she's the boss.

"I'm driving," Charlie extended her hand, palm up, and wiggled her fingers, gesturing James to give her the car keys with a proud smile.

"You're definitely not."

"I'm not spoiling the surprise by telling you where we're going."

She could see the wheels turning in his stubborn head.

"I'm gonna regret this," he sighed, resigned, after a moment.

He knew how to pick his battles. And this one, James was ready to let it go, the goofy smile on her face confirming he did the right thing.

He was the one responsible for that smile, and his chest only tightened at the thought.

"You're gonna love it," she winked before climbing on the driver's seat and turning the ignition on.

During their first date, James had mentioned his favorite book and it had been running through Charlie's mind ever since.

Driving downtown NYC while wearing high heels had never been a problem for her, but driving an automatic shift was one, apparently. She missed her vintage Cadillac, and she wasn't used to James's black SUV.

Though she would never giving him satisfaction by admitting out loud that he was right. She shouldn't have driven, and though she saw him clench the interior handle the entire ride, he had been smart enough to stay silent and not comment about her wild fits and starts.

Her struggle ended the moment she parked the car outside the movie theater she had privatized for the occasion, with written PRIVATE   SCREENING on the marquee.
