Let me Help!

Chapter 6- No loud noises.

A loud noise woke you up, making you shoot into the nearest corner. The woman -whose name you still didn't know- sat up abruptly. Both from the noise and your abrupt movement. You were already hyperventilating, memories shooting through your head like trains colliding.

"darling, I need you to look at me" her calm voice said. You hadn't even really noticed, your eyes shutting, but you were certainly against opening them. Everything in your head was already overwhelming, you couldn't possibly take the sun light from the outside. Soon you felt hands on your cheeks, making your eyes shoot open, with a deep -unstable- inhale.

"No-" was all you said, which apparently was enough for her to know you were about to fall to the ground. Because only seconds later, her arms were under yours, helping to lift you to the bed. You pulled your legs up to cover for you and wrapped your wings around your body.

"dear... will you let me help. I'll keep my distance." She promised. You peeked through your wings looking directly at her. She gave you a soft smile, and first now you noticed the blue theme she had going on.

"are you... do you know the term, ymbryne?" you asked, careful to mask the peculiar world in case she wasn't part of it. Your voice was muffled by your arms and wings, at first you thought you'd have to repeat the question. But to your surprise, she answered.

"yes dear. I'm Miss Peregrine" she said chuckling a little. She seemed weirdly relaxed around you, as if she was fond of you. Not like that of course. You knew no Ymbryne who was gay, and this one- Miss Peregrine, didn't look to be either. You slowly opened your wings and allowed her to step closer. You were still only in your underwear seeing as your dress had been washed and hadn't dried of yet. She took your hands that had still been locked around your legs, and slowly but steadily got you up.

"there is nothing to worry about here-" she started but you cut her off.

"but-"

"Abababababa!" she said almost making you die of laughter. She noticed what she'd said herself and facepalmed, releasing a small chuckle. She straightened out again looking you deeply into the eyes.

"I promise, to keep you safe" she said sternly as to knock it into your stubborn head. You nodded, believing her to the fullest. She seemed so trustworthy, and you'd never even met that woman. You stood there looking each other in the eyes. You just enjoying a peaceful moment, were your memories didn't haunt you. Then, suddenly, a knock was heard from the door. Miss Peregrine looked over immediately then with panicked eyes looked back at you.

"what? what is it-" she cut you off by placing a hand on your mouth. You grimaced in confusion but when she looked down at you... well your body, for a brief second, then to her closet, you realized that her ward was knocking on her door. Waiting for a reply, and you were close to being completely naked. You eyes shot wide open when another knock was heard followed by the voice of a boy.

"Miss Peregrine? It's Hugh... there's a spider under my bed" after that followed silence as you were both mildly panicked.

"are you alright Miss Peregrine?" the boy asked, knowing that any ymbryne would have heard him by now. And seeing as Miss Peregrine was... very young, you assumed her hearing was at its absolute bets. You then heard the boys footsteps retreating. You immediately looked to Miss Peregrine, who in a brisk pace walked over to her closet.

"here" she whispered. Well, it was more like a whisper shout. She threw you a blouse and some elegantly looking pants.

"I can't wear this!" you whisper shouted back, holding out the navy blue blouse she'd passed you.

"you can have something to your liking later, but for now just-" she started but you knelt down beside her and placed your hand on top of her lips. Which were warm you noticed.
