Meliodas' POV:
"K-Kanani!" I exclaimed, my voice trembling with a mix of shock and awe. I stared at her, my breath catching in my throat. She was standing there, just as I remembered—around 5'3", (just like me i am 5'3 being 17🥹) 'Perfect,' I thought, my eyes tracing her delicate yet strong features. My heart raced, caught between the memories of our past and the harsh reality of the present.
As I stood there, mesmerised, a sudden surge of powerful magic surged near my neck, snapping me out of my daze. Instinctively, I turned around, my demon mark blazing on my forehead, only to find Kanani's—no, Ebis Elight's—sword poised dangerously close to my throat. Her eyes glinted with a mix of cold determination and something deeper, something that cut through the bravado I was trying to maintain.
"Ebis Elight... Is your name right?" I heard myself say, though my mind was reeling, struggling to keep up with the situation. My demon mode activated almost on its own, a reflex to the intensity of the moment.
"Not bad," she replied, her voice laced with a pride that echoed through the battlefield. "Indeed... that's my name—EBIS ELIGHT, the EMPRESS of the EMPIRE FLORA" Her small body serging with unimaginable power "Don't be surprised, Meliodas, but my empire is vaster, bigger, and safer than your kingdom could ever dream to be." she said with pride in her voice.
Her words struck me like a blow, each one carrying the weight of her accomplishments. I looked around, my eyes taking in the remnants of the battlefield. The destruction we had wrought upon Falora was immense, yet there was an unyielding strength in the land, a testament to the unity she had fostered among its people. The Empire of Falora was a beacon of hope, where races of all kinds lived together in harmony—goddesses, demons, fairies, humans, dragons, and vampires alike. It was a place where the downtrodden found refuge, where criminals were given a second chance, and where Ebis herself was a mystery, a legend that ruled with compassion and ironclad resolve.
But now, that same resolve was aimed squarely at me.
Zeldris, who had been silently seething beside me, finally spoke up, his voice dripping with disdain. "What's with you being full of yourself?! You think you can win against us? The sons of the Demon King? It's two against one—you're at a clear disadvantage."
Ebis chuckled darkly, the sound sending chills down my spine. Her eyes flashed with a dangerous gleam as she tilted her head slightly, mocking us with her gaze. "You still think you have a chance, Zel dear?" she taunted, her voice silky smooth but carrying a sinister undertone.
I gasped as her expression shifted, revealing the true power hidden beneath her composed exterior. The air around us grew heavy, charged with an oppressive energy that made my skin crawl. This was the real Ebis—the overpowered, dominant empress my memories had conveniently forgotten. She was no longer the girl I once knew; she was something far more formidable.
Before we could react, another clone of Ebis appeared behind Zeldris, her sword pressed against his neck. A bead of sweat trickled down his temple, betraying the fear he was trying to mask. Ebis's lips curled into a dark smile as she spoke, her voice echoing with ominous power. "I am placing a curse on you boys," she declared, her tone leaving no room for doubt.
Zeldris pushed her away, his instincts kicking in as he charged at her, their swords clashing with a deafening roar. Sparks flew from their blades, and the ground beneath them cracked under the sheer force of their strikes. Zeldris was the finest swordsman in the Demon Kingdom, but as I watched him struggle against Ebis, a sinking feeling settled in my gut. She was toying with him, her movements fluid and precise, her eyes never leaving his, a predator playing with its prey.
