I woke up from the sound of my phone. I already know who's calling so I answered it with my eyes still closed. I wanna sleep more.
"Hellmmm"
I heard her soft chuckle on the other line because of the way I greeted her.
"Good morning Bunny. Go prep. I'll be there after an hour"
I whined. Ang aga niya namang nanggising.
"Veen it's too early. Can I sleep some more? Kahit 30 minutes lang please"
"Nope. Your class will start at 8am and it's almost 6:45. You wouldn't want be late on your first day right, Patricia Monica?"
Napabuntong hininga ako dahil tinawag niya na ako sa buong pangalan ko, ibig sabihin seryoso na siya. Veen is my bestfriend of 12 years I think? I see her as my older sister not only because of our 3 years gap but also because she has always been taking care of me since we were young.
They always tease me as Veen's princess. You see, she is a very serious type of person- tahimik, hindi palangiti at hindi palasalita. But being her Bunny has a lot of perks. Kaya nila ako tinatawag na prinsesa niya dahil napakaraming bagay ang nagagawa ni Veen pag magkasama kami na hindi niya ginagawa sa iba.
I am her only exception and that makes me feel so special.
I giggled because of the thought.
"Hmm? Why are you laughing?"
Nakalimutan kong nasa kabilang linya pa pala siya. I smiled.
"Nothing. I'm just happy to hear your voice. I'll take a bath now. See you after an hour. Drive safe please. Love youuuu!"
"Yes ma'am. I love you too Bun"
When the call ended, I got up from bed and fixed it. Napapangiti pa rin ako habang naliligo. Simula nang mag high school ako, walang palya sa pagtawag at pagsundo sakin si Veen tuwing umaga kapag may pasok. Hearing her voice at the start of every morning makes my day complete. Masyado akong spoiled sa kanya and that's one thing that I love about her.
"Good morning my beautiful Patricia"
I kissed my Mom's cheek when I arrived at the dining room. Kami lang ang magkasama sa breakfast ngayon dahil nasa hospital pa si Daddy. Umupo na ako at nagsimulang kumain.
"Susunduin ka ba ni Saman-- oh why am I even asking? Hinding-hindi pumalya sa pagsundo sayo ang batang yun"
Mom and I chuckled because of what she said. Masyado na ring kilala ng mga magulang ko si Veen kaya kampante sila kapag siya ang lagi kong kasama. Nevertheless, Veen is very responsible and trustworthy. She never lets anyone down.
"Yes Mom. Baka nga nandi--" I stopped from talking when we heard a beep from outside.
Sabay na naman kaming napatawa ni Mommy. Sasabihin ko palang sana na nandito na siya. Once I'm done brushing my teeth I took my bag and kissed my Mom goodbye.
"Take care baby. Tell Sam I said hi. Hindi na ako lalabas, magp-prep pa ako for the office eh"
I nodded at her and waved goodbye. Nang makalabas ako ng bahay ay binuksan na ni Kuya Boyet ang gate. Halos mapanganga ako nang makita si Veen.
She was leaning on her black Jimny while crossing her arms. Her black hair is on a ponytail and she's wearing her retro sunglasses. This is the first time that I saw her with her pilot uniform. Last year niya na ngayon sa course niya kaya siguro iba na ang uniform nila.
"Woah. My babi is so poganda. Mom said hi by the way"
She did not respond to what I said, instead, she looked at me from head to toe.
