"She looks so happy"
I whispered, enough for Kate to hear me. Nandito na kami sa Hacienda nila ngayon and it's almost 11AM. We were just standing here in a corner, enough for us to see Veen and Liz and enough for them not to see us.
I barely had enough sleep last night. Because of the cold breeze of Baguio and the coldness of my heart. All I thought about was Veen. Paano kung makita niya ako? Would she say hi? Paano kung makita ko siyang masaya? Is it gonna be goodbye? Hindi ko alam. Wala na akong alam.
"Mon, maybe this is a bad idea? Nasasaktan ka lang"
I wiped my tears and shook my head. Hindi ko pa naman alam kung ano talaga sila di ba? And shouldn't I trust Veen more? Ilang taon niya akong minahal and she never had a change of heart no matter what happened, hindi naman siguro posible yung magkakagusto siya sa iba in just a short period of time, right?
It's just a short period of time but you were never there, Mon.
"Am I pathetic if I'll cheer myself up with the idea that she still loves me and they're not together?"
I looked at Veen and Elizabeth. They were laughing together while they're cutting grape fruits. Veen's smile is priceless and genuine. I can see how happy she is from where I am. Parang gusto ko na tuloy siyang magstay nalang dito sa Baguio. Her face is glowing and she looks healthy.
This is actually what I really wanted to check. Gusto ko lang talaga makasiguradong okay siya.
"You're not pathetic, Mon. Stop being too hard on yourself"
Nanatili lang akong nakatingin sa kanila habang nakikinig kay Kate. Am I being too hard? Well maybe because I deserve it?
"Can she stay here for good Kate? She looks so peaceful and happy, malayong-malayo sa kung ano siya weeks ago"
"I cannot answer that, Mon. It's all up to Sam if she will stay here or not"
"Di bale nang hindi ko siya makita at makasama sa Manila, Kate. Basta ganito lang siya kasaya parati. It will always be about her happiness"
"You're really down bad, ano?"
Napunta sa kanya ang atensyon ko dahil sa sinabi niya. I love Veen so much that I would be willing to give her anything that will make her happy. Even if it's my own happiness. Even if it takes being far from her.
"Mahal na mahal ko siya, Kate. And I'm happy because I get to feel this kind of love for her. It's the best feeling ever. Kahit ang daming panahon na nasasaktan at umiiyak ako, it's all worth it. Because Samantha Veen has always been and will always be worth it"
I gave Veen one last glance before I turned my back.
"Tara na, Kate. It's gonna be a long drive, let's not keep T and the girls waiting"
I know she was about to say something but I just started walking away. Palabas ng Hacienda kung nasaan sina T. No one knew about us being here. Ate Kara made sure na walang makakakita sa amin ni Kate papasok kundi makakarating ito sa Daddy at Mommy nila and for sure makakarating din kay Veen. Everyone here is also busy because of a visit from possible investors, yung mga kameeting ni ate Kara.
I guess it's time to go back and find my own reality because Veen already found hers here in Baguio.

"Oli, come here"
Mabilis na tumakbo papunta sa kinauupuan ko si Oliver at ibinalik sa akin ang tennis ball na kinuha niya. I decided to bring him in the usual dog park where we always go and play. It's already our Christmas break and wala naman na akong masyadong ginagawa so I decided to visit Oli.
