[Narrator's Pov]

The door creaked as Luz heard her sister Lucia open and close it with a sigh.

"Hey!"Luz called out with cheeriness i heard in her voice so often. "Sis! Hey!" Luz yelled at the top of her lungs. "You're HOME! Where's mom?" she asked after running into the room faster than the world record.

"She's not here right now." Lucia told her. "I got halfway there and then mom called saying that she needed to go somewhere else for work and will be there until the 12th."
"They always postpone. They haven't been home since 2017." luz said, sounding close to tears. I started to come down the stairs when I heard this

"I know kid, i know. Hey wednesday! You were so quiet i almost forgot you existed."
"No worries Lucia," she told her, "I was studying with my science partner, Luz. She told me she would be right back up."

"Okay then. But I need to talk to you. Do you mind sending your friend home?"
"Uh, yeah. Sure."
"Im already leaving. We were done anyway." The emo- GOTH, SORRY, said.

The doorbell rang in the background.

"What's that?" The incredibly inquisitive Luz asked.
"The door idiot, obviously 🙄" The incredibly lovable oldest child told her.
"Well I knew that! I mean who's AT the door!"
"Okay then. Let's go see them, instead of standing here like absolute, absolute, I don't know. Let's just go find out." Lucia said to luz, who were still thinking, not hearing a word she said. She stood there for a second before just thinking, "nevermind, I'll go myself."

As Lucia opened the door, she saw a small package, the size of 3 small oranges in a row. I looked at who it was addressed to and saw that it said; "To the children of 24 Nevermore road Jerico, Washington "

"Hey IDIOT, ITS A PACKAGE FOR US!" Lucia yelled, louder than most would think is humanly possible.

"What?! Who would send us mail?"

"I dunno, do you think it's one of your bullies? Would they have followed you into town one day to find out where you stay on the weekends?" Lucia asked, now being wary. "Y'know what, I'm just going to open it."

Narrator: [Tearing back the paper, it was revealed to have 3 first class plane tickets and a sheet of paper confirming a hotel booking between the 1st of November and the 31st of December.]

"Hotel tickets too?! Whoever sent these must really like us!"

"Waitwaitwaitwaitwaitwait, THE NORTH POLE?!"

"YEAH DID YOU NOT SEE THAT"

"YEAH DID YOU NOT READ THAT"

"STOP YELLING"

"NO YOU STOP YELLING"

Luz's phone pings.

Wenny: "Both of you stop yelling. I'm on school grounds and I can hear you"

Luz: :"we live next door-"

Wenny: "I don't care. Shut up."

"There's 3. There is 3 tickets here!?" Lucia exclaims questioningly. "Why's there 3?! AND ITS IN A WEEK?! FOR A MONTH?! I'm going to pass out."

"Don't do that dumbass. Why don't you call the airline and ask if this is legit. That, would be a logical thing to do, wouldn't it be" Luz said, feeling uncomfortable being the responsible onefpr once.

"Yeah... Yeah... I'll.. I'll do that..." Lucia said, sounding faint, trying to wrap her head around it.

•30 minutes later•

"They're legit. We're going to the north pole in a week." Lucia confirmed to Luz, sounding more confident that before the call. "And I read the date wrong. We leave tomorrow. Pack your bags. We're driving over now."
