⋈"What did you say your quirk was again?"
"Polarity."
"And what exactly does that mean? Rather, what are the specifics?"
"...now, when you say specifics...?"
Akemi's thoughts were currently racing at an alarming speed. Her first day working as a sidekick for a real agency was turning out to be more of an interrogation session. Having dealt purely with the office work side of being a hero, she figured filling out her new hire packet would be easy.
Her potential boss and co-sidekick were assisting with the new hire process. So far, she doubted she would ever leave.
"What I mean to say is, how does your quirk work? How do you activate it? What are your limits?"
The one currently questioning Akemi, a pro hero by the name of Blue Jay, was introduced as Hawks' childhood friend and the only other employee at this agency. During his introduction Akemi learned they met as kids, became close friends, decided to open an agency together, and that Blue Jay was responsible for talking Hawks into accepting Suzume's offer.
When asked why he agreed to it, Blue Jay simply responded "It was a great offer! Besides, it was getting boring having just Hawks around."
Hawks took great offense to his comment. But he shook it off rather quickly.
"You don't have to answer that if you don't want to. He's just trying to get information out of you so he can build new support tech." Hawks commented while spinning aimlessly in his office chair.
"Hardly. I simply want to know what kind of a hero Yonezu is, don't you, Hawks?"
"Nope." He replied. "I already saw what she's about the other day at the park. What's more to ask?"
Hawks insisted he needed not interrogate Akemi any further, but the subtle glance he shot at Blue Jay suggested otherwise.
"So then, do you mind expanding a bit further on your quirk?"
"Oh, sure. It's not all that interesting, really. My quirk allows me to manipulate magnetic forces. You know, north and south poles. Both the amount and the weight of the objects I'm able to move depend on my physical strength."
"Meaning the longer you're engaged in a fight, the weaker you are." Hawks arrogantly interrupted. "I don't know Blue Jay; do you really want someone like that on our team?"
"I'm sure it's not that black and white, Hawks. Give her some time to explain."
"No, he's right. It's that black and white."
