Twisting and turning at the edge of her seat, stretching her arms out ever so carefully so that the paper coffee cup in her hands does not accidentally slip and the liquid burns into her thigh; that is the predicament Yonezu Akemi finds herself in today.

In her mind, the days have stretched out into an eternity. It has been merely 6 days since her conversation with Suzume.

Is it too pushy if I text her asking when she plans on talking to this new hero? She asked herself, impulsivity and lack of self-control fueling her fingertips as she scrolled through the text messages sent between her and her sister. No, I shouldn't rush her. If she said she'll do it, then she'll do it. Just take it easy and wait. No need to freak out.

A pleasantly calm and breezy spring day, Akemi's favorite. During the spring, life begins anew. Going out and enjoying the view of the cherry blossoms in the nearby park sounded like a great idea back at the apartment.

Rather than enjoy it, all she was able to do now was fight with her urge to just call her sister and end her misery once and for all.

The idea, the offer, was too good to be true. No matter how she worded it, Akemi was almost certain the pro hero would not accept Suzume's sweet talking.

How amusing it was to think back to her days at Shiketsu. Teachers and students alike would constantly share their passionate and motivating origin story, the traumatic life experience or over joyous occasion which lead to their future career as heroes.

As for Akemi, this was the most stressful time of her life, which is not saying much.

To live in a world where, despite having villains and malicious inclinations, crime would never rob anyone of their sense of security; a world where everyone, including heroes, just had too much time on their hands than they knew what to do with. That's the kind of world people should live in.

That's the kind of world Akemi wished to live in. Maybe then she would be accepted as a hero by all.

"Being a hero kind of sucks," She uttered to herself, her back slumping into the wooden and pristine park bench. "Where's the glory in being a reject?

Indeed, there was no glory in being a hero who had been rejected by her peers. Yet on this very day, at this park, and in this very same hour, minute, and second of the day, Akemi would be given the chance at redemption.

She was stunned when her moment of relative peace was disturbed by the sound of a loud crash off in the distance. "What the heck was that?"

She leaned forward, attempting to focus her sights on the busy city street just a few miles past the public park.
