You.
His voice had held an emotion that ached for me to believe him. That one word he spoke how much he wanted me but the stupid organ in my chest bled no matter how much it was banging under my ribcage. Abhimanyu Rajvansh didn't wanted me but himself in his life. I had learned that long time ago.
"You had your guard been following me." I wished it came out like a accuse to make a crack of guilt beneath his frozen heart but it came more like a statement. As if there was nothing wrong putting a guard behind your ex-wife.
"Yes."
"Do you feel guilty about that?"
"No."
I pressed my lips together at the annoyance that flushed through me. Abhimanyu's eyes held mine into a fierce grip and suddenly something remorseful sinked into me like a hole. It made me feel guilty for going on a date with Kiaan even when I knew I hadn't anything wrong. My ex-husband was making me feel bad for being with a different guy when I knew he had done things adulterated.
"I'm taking you home, love," he ordered without any hint of gentleness I had witnessed inside the restaurant when he had pressed his lips against my wrist like an apology. He walked towards a black tinted Mercedes I hadn't noticed before.
"Abhhhii," Shravani babbed, opening her arms and I saw Abhimanyu taking her into his without a second of reluctantce. He breathed out softly like having her in his arms gave him peace.
"Hello to you too, my little love." He pressed a kiss against her cheek and then her forehead but when he did the latter, his eyes were on me. Shravani giggled in response and I ignored the tug in my chest. Was he using his manipulation tricks on my daughter too?
"Inside the car now, love," he gritted, turning to me after he had tugged Shravani gently inside the backseat of his car and put on her seatbelt. The rebellion part in me wanted to disobey. It wanted to see how he was going to react after my attempt but as I gazed up at the dusking sky and found the lingering of gray heavy clouds, the vulnerable part in overpowered. I didn't wanted to be stuck in the rain again. Drenched and counting my last breath.
Sighing, I slowly walked towards the passenger seat and found him taking the driving seat. "Isn't Ro coming with us?" Shravani gaped and I frowned, my eyes narrowing towards Abhimanyu but he wasn't looking at my face.
"Ro?" I perplexed until my eyes went over to Roman. "No little love, he has somewhere else to be. It is just us." Abhimanyu words were mixed with sin and satisfactory at the last part when he had said us. Roman leaned against windowsill and pinched Shravani's nose.
"Until then, mia bellisma."
"Bye Ro." Shravani waved at him until he was out of sight as Abhimanyu drove off his Mercedes. Tension radiated in the car or maybe it was just my body that burned by just only sitting beside me.
"My feet hurts," I groaned all a sudden to distract the tension between us. I wasn't going for heels tomorrow after how Dr. Thakur had made run through wards and wards and patients and patients. If it went on like this, I was going to be needing a bed in hospital soon myself.
"What Mumma?" Shravani inquired from the backseat and I turned my head to see her busy with tablet. She wasn't actually listening to me. "Nothing sweetheart," I smiled before I pushed the car seat slightly behind and placed my legs on top of dashboard.
