Vedika followed Rosa blindly as if she might get lost in the massive villa. That she would have to encounter him again which she didn't wanted to for now at least. "This is your room," Rosa said sharply as she pushed open a room's door.

"If you want something please don't bother telling me," Rosa snapped, rolling her eyes watching Vedika switching on the light of the room. "Keep rolling your eyes, woman, who knows you will find your mind back there to talk with your guests."

Rosa glared at her.

"Don't call me that," Rosa hardened, her voice cold.

"Call you what?"

"Woman."

Vedika bit the tip of tongue after seeing the scowl on Rosa's voice. She pouted at her before saying, "Oh! My mistake then. It is hard to tell a man if he is a man when he wears a female dress," she remarked and watched with enjoyment how Rosa's nose flared with anger. Red creeping up to her cheeks and neck.

But before Rosa could say something, Vedika added, "But it is okay. I don't know judge you know. I guess your dress inspiration is from Ranveer Singh then."

"You—"

Rosa seemed like she wanted to spit something harsh at Vedika or slap her backhanded but surprise took over her when the old woman turned on her heels and marched out of room while muttering curses which Vedika knew was directed towards her.

Any other days, Vedika could have felt guilty for using those words but today, her anger took the best of her and she had no regret saying those words of Rosa. Probably, Rosa might not talk to her now and she saw a good sign in that. Sighing, her anger was replaced by something else as she pulled out her phone and dialed the number she was wanting to do all day.

"Maa. . . where is Shravani?" She said quickly as her mother had picked up the phone.

"No greeting to your mother? Kids these days are..."

"Mumma?" She heard her daughter's chirpy voice before her mother could complete her sentence of how insolent her child but Vedika cared the least about. A smile tugged on her lips as she heard Shravani's voice. From the background, she could hear her mother saying something to Shravani.

"Maa, let her talk first," Vedika said softly and her mother sighed from the other side. "Mumma how are you?" Her smile became wider at the concern. "I'm fine, baby. What about you? Are Nana and Nani treating you right?" She asked, not that she had any doubt on how her parents were treating their only granddaughter.

"Yup. Nana promised he is going to bake the chicken pizza. I'm going to help him," Shravani poured out with joy in her voice as if it was a gold medal she was getting. Vedika laughed. Her father rarely cooked or baked something but when he did, Vedika knew he could beat her mom in that even if her mother showcased that she had the upper hand in the kitchen.

Maybe leaving Shravani with her parents wasn't a bad idea after all for two months. She could still recall her mother's words when she had told her mother that she supposed to treat a patient and her mother had fuss about it on letting her to a stranger's house. Little did she knew that it was her ex-son-in-law and Vedika made sure that her parents weren't aware of that.

"Mumma..."

"Yeah?"

"I miss you!" Shravani said with sadness in her voice as if she was hurt and that had her heart gripping almost painfully. She felt guilty for leaving her daughter. She abhorred Dr. Thakur for forcing her into being his doctor but moreover, she hated the reason for all. The man with mismatched enticing black and gray eyes. Abhimanyu Rajvansh.
