Kunikuzushi stared down into the pond that sat untouched on the Raiden Estate's property the second he walked onto one of the many small bridges his home had.

(Y/n) crouched down beside the indigo-eyed male with a distant look in his eyes as he reached a single hand down, and dipped it into the chilly water that wavered due to the unexpected movement that appeared.

Indigo eyes slowly drifted down as their owner looked at the (H/c)-haired male with a soft expression on his face.

"Are you still working as a gardener?" Kunikuzushi asked.

(Y/n) side-eyed the male who nearly spooked him with an unexpected question.

(Y/n) then nodded his head at the question. "Yeah, I am," he answered.

Kunikuzushi hummed lightly as he looked away.

"Bothering your tutors like usual?" (Y/n) asked in a teasing tone.

Kunikuzushi felt a smirk slip on his lips as he gave a small chuckle of amusement. "Of course. I'm starting to believe they just stick around because of my mother paying for them, seeing as I can see the annoyance and hate in their eyes when they have to teach," he retorted.

(Y/n) sweatdropped, but smiled a little.

"I'm guessing Lady Miko hired more workers during the time that I was gone?" The (H/c)-haired male questioned.

Kunikuzushi raised a brow at that. "Oh, and how'd you find that out?" He replied in a questioning tone.

(Y/n) deadpanned. "Because they've been doing a horrible job. I'm amazed I haven't seen a single dead plant as of yet," he sighed.

Kunikuzushi's eyes danced with amusement when he realized that (Y/n) must've been talking about his own experience he had during the time he was here, seeing as the said indigo-eyed boy remembered all the times the (H/c)-haired male would scold the workers that didn't take care of the plants correctly.

(Y/n) stood up to his full height which was nearly a foot taller than Kunikuzushi's current height.

Indigo eyes stared at their owner's crush in silent fascination, not wanting to disturb the relaxed look on (Y/n)'s face.

"Lumine said that her brother has a lover that's from the Kaedehara Clan. Do you know who that is?" Kunikuzushi suddenly asked.

Hearing this caused (Y/n) to blink at the unexpected question, so he turned his head to look at the other male beside him.

"Oh, right. Mmh, Aether's dating my brother," (Y/n) simply answered.

Kunikuzushi's eyes widened. "You're a Kaedehara?" He questioned in disbelief.

(Y/n) gave a teasing smile. "Is it really that surprising?" He asked.

Kunikuzushi angrily huffed when he saw how the other was teasing him. "Of course, it is!" He replied.

(Y/n) playfully rolled his eyes at the other. "It's probably because I don't look like a Kaedehara, right?" He questioned, taking the silence as a muted answer, "It's because the family adopted me and took me under their wing," (Y/n) explained.

Kunikuzushi blinked, surprised to hear a little about (Y/n)'s past.

"I don't know if you'll believe me or not... But I used to be quite the little thief on the streets, you know? But I didn't use the things I stole for myself, I gave them to the kids and adults that also lived on the streets since I saw myself not needing a thing," (Y/n) said as he shook his head at the small memory he remembered.

"You were a thief...? Then how did you get adopted by the Kaedehara Clan?" Kunikuzushi asked, creating mental notes to remember this information.

(Y/n) placed a hand on his chin as he furrowed his brows. "How did I get adopted by them? Hmm... I might've pickpocketed one of 'em, and they secretly followed me to an alleyway just to find out that the few mora I stole for them was for this young couple who just had a newborn barely a week into them living on the streets. I'm guessing they saw something in me that others didn't and basically adopted me. I was magically adopted into the main family and given the title "Second Heir of the Kaedehara Clan"," he answered with a deadpanned look.

Kunikuzushi kept listening to (Y/n) as the other talked fondly about his past with the Kaedehara Clan before both he and his brother broke away from the Smithing Family to live their own lives.

Miko glanced at the blonde-haired female as she took a sip of her tea.

Ei had left just half an hour ago to head to her office.

The pink-haired female then raised a brow when she saw the familiar twinkles of mischief in Lumine's eyes.

"You haven't told that boy you both would be here for a week?" Miko asked.

Lumine shook her head. "Nope, not yet. He'll probably find out tomorrow or something, though," she answered.

Miko sighed. "And what do you have planned?" She questioned.

Lumine smirked. "Oh, just trying to get a certain Raiden engaged to my lovely gardener," the female truthfully answered.

Miko smiled as a laugh escapes her lips. "It's amazing that you also want to get them together," she points out.

Lumine raised a questioning brow at this.

Miko placed her cup of tea on the table before her. "I, too, plan on getting them together," she explained.

Lumine felt a wide smile make its way onto her lips. "That's wonderful! We have a week to get them together," she declared.

Miko sent the blonde-haired female a close-eyed smile as she made a sound of agreement.

Lumine brought her cup of tea away from her lips as she glanced out of a nearby window.

"Let's hope this all works out in our favor," Lumine states.

"Agreed," Miko replied.
