"Young Master? Are you there, Young Master? The guests have arrived," a female's voice called out after knocking on a very familiar wooden door she went by almost every single day.

Taking a step back, the woman watched as a male with short purple hair, and a ticked-off expression opened the door.

"Guests? What the hell was my mother thinking? Who are the guests, anyway?" Kunikuzushi asked in annoyance, glaring at the slightly older woman in front of him.

The maid sent the younger an apologetic smile. "Sadly, I cannot answer that. Your mother wants you to find out yourself," she apologized.

Kunikuzushi grumbled angrily under his breath as he stepped out of his bedroom, and slammed the door shut behind him.

"Fine, take me to these so-called "guests"," the boy ordered in a harsh tone.

The maid nodded her head before quickly leading the younger male in the direction of the main dining room.

Kunikuzushi kept his head low, keeping his indigo eyes piercing straight to the floor.

As both of them got closer and closer to the main dining room, Kunikuzushi couldn't help but make out two familiar voices.

One being his mother, and the other being Lumine.

The maid came to a stop in front of a giant wooden door and stepped to the side. "The guests and your mother are inside here," she says before bowing and leaving the indigo-eyed boy alone.

Kunikuzushi scoffed as he pushed the wooden door open.

"Mother, what is it that you-" Kunikuzushi came to a stop from rudely asking what his mother wanted when he took notice of the familiar figure with (H/c) locks.

(E/c) hues drifted over in his direction, the owner of the said eyes widening in surprise.

Kunikuzushi froze when he realized who the male before his mother was.

Lumine had an amused smirk sent toward Ei, doing her best to burst into laughter when she saw the pure look of distaste on the older woman's face.

(Y/n) felt his body stiffen up when he saw how Kunikuzushi was looking directly at him.

Kunikuzushi blinked away any tears that gathered up in the corner of his eyes and headed over to his mother's side, sitting in a seat beside her.

Lumine leaned back and gave a smile to the indigo-eyed boy.

"It's been so long, Kunikuzushi! How have you been doing?" Lumine asked, raising a brow as she glanced between (Y/n) and Kunikuzushi with a knowing look dancing in her eyes.

Ei scoffed lowly when she saw how her son stiffened up around (Y/n)'s figure the second he entered the room.

Kunikuzushi forced a strained smile at the duo before him. "I've been good," he answered.

(Y/n) felt the awkward tension that was created, and he felt as if it was his fault for some reason.

"How's your father and brother? I haven't heard from them for a while," Ei calmly asked.

Lumine raised a brow at the sudden personality turn of the woman before her and (Y/n).

"Oh, they're doing wonderful. My brother, Aether, is currently living life with his soulmate," Lumine answered.

Kunikuzushi raised a brow at this, wondering what the blonde-haired female was hinting at.

"Oh? Has your brother been placed into an arranged marriage then?" Ei asked, doing her best not to crack under the pressure that Lumine was putting her under.

Lumine shook her head. "Oh, no. He's fallen in love with one of our blacksmiths, you see. Father and I couldn't just deny this due to how couple-like they act toward each other," she answered.

Ei's widened at this answer, trying not to make a face of disgust and horror.

Kunikuzushi drifted his eyes to the silent (Y/n), who didn't dare to say one simple thing since he has been here.

"And who is this blacksmith? Do I know of them?" Ei questioned.

Lumine giggled as she sent an amused smile. "Oh, you do. Remember the Kaedehara Clan? I simply have two of the remaining heirs in my clutches," she replied.

Suddenly, the sound of the big wooden doors opening was heard, along with the sound of metal cart wheels heading in the group's direction.

"Food is ready to be served, Lady Ei," a servant said with a small bow.

Ei nodded her head. "Go ahead," she ordered.

The servant stood back up to their full height and urged the other servants to place the food on the table.

(Y/n) watched the servants in silence, trying to figure out why Lumine was urging Ei to break for some unknown reason.

Slowly, (E/c) and indigo eyes met one another, causing their owners to quickly look away with small flustered cheeks.

Lumine mentally smirked. 'This reunion is lovely, isn't it?' She thought to herself.
