"Hello, how can i help you?" The lady behind the desk said with a smile. "Yes we want to check in please." Remus said, returning the smile. Remus and Sirius were in the airport ready to check in for the plane. They where leaving for their honeymoon.

"Okay, you can put your bags on here and then you can wait there until you can board."
The lady was explaining, Remus saw how Sirius was looking around with slight panic in his eyes. He didn't like crowded places at all. "Miss, my husband has autism, is it possible to board a little earlier or later to avoid the crowd?" Sirius looked at Remus with a gratefull look in his eyes. "Ofcourse, when they call for passengers of flight 276 code 1, you can board. You will have to show this card" the lady gave them a card "and then they will let you through." "Thank you so much." Remus thanked her while placing their bags on the cart. "Have a nice flight." The nice lady said before Remus and Sirius went to find a place to sit and wait.

"Thanks remmy, what would i do without you." Sirius said, he didn't know what he did to deserve such a great husband. "Anything for you my love." Sirius melted at that nickname. Remus called everyone 'love', everyone except Sirius, because Sirius was the one person he could call 'my love'. Sirius gave Remus a kiss, a small kiss, but still full of love and adoration.

"That is disgusting!" A voice called from behind Sirius. He turned around to see a guy around their age standing with a disgusted look on his face. "They shouldn't allow people like you to come in public places like this." Behind him stood his wife nodding. The woman had a little toddler by the hand who was looking at them with a smile. "oi mate, it isn't because you have a smill dick, that you have to act like a huge dick, fuck off and leave us alone will you?" Sirius just said calmly. The man scoffed and turned around to go sit somewhere else with his wife and kid, but the child pulled back his hand and walked over to Remus and Sirius. "Awe you two in wuv?" The little toddler asked. "Remus chuckled, yes, yes we are. Very much in love." "you awe a supewhewo." The little kid said before walking back to his parents.

"Passengers for flight 276 code 1 can board please. I repeat, passengers for flight 276 code 1 can board."

"Looks like we can board darling." Remus said to Sirius. They got up and walked over to the desk where they had to show their ticket and the little card. Everything went smoothly and in a few minutes they where sat on their seats in the plane. "It's nice to board a flight once without having to work on it." Remus said. Remus worked as a flight attendant at the airport. "Yeah i can imagine." Sirius replied.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking, we are ready for take off, please fasten your seatbelt and follow the safety instructions."

Sirius nervously took Remus' hand. This was the first time he travelled on a plane. Remus smiled at him reassuringly. God knows this would be the last time Remus smiled at him.

After a few hours, Remus noticed something was wrong. They weren't as high as they where supposed to be, and they shouldn't be landing for another three hours. Remus called the flight attendant and said there was something wrong but they wouldn't believe him.

5 minutes

He tried to warn the people on the plane, but no one would listen.

3 minutes

Remus was panicking now. He knew what to do to save himself but the people on the plane didn't. First he wanted to make sure he and Sirius where ok, but then he remembered the little toddler. He had his whole life ahead of him. He couldn't die.

1 minute

Remus leapt up and ran to the toddler and his parents. He told them what was happening but they wouldn't listen. He knew it was now or never and he grabbed the toddler. He ran back to Sirius and covered them both. He knew he probably wouldn't survive this, but atleast Sirius and the little kid would.

"I love you Sirius"

The crash

The moment they hit the ground, Remus was knocked out by an object falling on his head. It was chaos. The plane was burning, everywhere where people. Dead. Burned. Badly hurt. Sirius checked the kid before trying to wake Remus.

"Remus, Remus, please baby wake up. Please please, don't leave me alone. I can't live without you."

The little kid was crying. His parents where both dead. Suddenly Remus woke up. He got up and started pushing Sirius and the little kid to the exit before starting to carry people outside. The last thing he heard before collapsing to the ground was the sound of helicopters.

"I'm so sorry, we did everything we could." Sirius broke down. He was screaming and crying on the floor of the hospital.

Remus was dead.

Sirius cried, and cried and cried. Remus had given his own life to save his. He didn't know how long he sat there. But at some point, James and Regulus had come pick him up and took him to their home.

Sirius didn't come out of bed for weeks. He didn't eat, he didn't sleep. In the meantime Regulus and James took care of Harry and the little kid, who's name was Elliot. At some point, Sirius would be ready to take care of Elliot, and adopt him. But now he was not. He was grieving. Everyone was grieving. It was like a dark cloud fell down over potter manor.

Sirius didn't attend Remus funeral. He couldn't bear it. He wasn't ready to say goodbye to his soulmate. Regulus and James attended for him, and they promised him that when he was ready, they would prepare a small service with the three of them, so Sirius could say his proper goodbyes.

2 years later

Sirius was getting better, he and Elliot started therapy to process the trauma they expirienced. Half a year ago, Sirius officially adopted Elliot. He knew Remus would've wanted that. And he wasn't better. It would still take years for Sirius to be cured from his depression. But he was taking babysteps, and together with Regulus and James. He took care of Elliot. Sometimes he would have bad days, when he was down and cried himself to sleep. Regulus and James always reminded him that it was okay to cry, as long as he remebered to smile every once in a while.
