Tom tried to calm his nerves as he stared at the building in front of him. He didn't want to go to this place, but a private tiny one was too expensive for his family. He pushed open the small flap in the corner of the door, and was hit with loud noises of all sorts. He covered his ears anxiously as he scurried in between the legs of the giant students. Paying too much attention to getting through safely, he accidentally bumped into another tiny. It was a boy, wearing ear covers, who was just a little bit shorter than him, but looked tough. "Woah man, watch where you're going." he said, patting Tom's shoulder. "Transferred here?" he asked. Tom nodded. "I'm Callum, nice to meet you. I've got a shop of tiny passes if you would be willing to do business with me." Callum explained, shaking his hand. "Tiny...passes?" asked Tom. Callum nodded and unbuttoned his blazer to reveal several huge, folded up cards. "There's one that says 'Do not pick up', I stole it from the principals office. Oh, and this one that says 'Do not step on', stole that one from the school nurse, oh, and this one...!" he began showcasing his passes to Tom, who stood there, flabbergasted that you would need special passes for basic human rights. Suddenly, a screeching sound pierced Tom's ears. He covered them as Callum mouthed a 'Good luck!' in his direction. He was instantly bombarded with a stampede of giants, crashing into him and nearly stepping on him. A girl skidded to a halt just in front of him. She placed her fingers around Tom as his breath quickened with fear. He was lifted high into the air, which made his stomach ache. "You are late to class. I'll tell the teacher to give you detention." she spoke sternly, and raced to a classroom. "Miss! Miss! This kid is late. Can I give them a punishment?" she called out annoyingly. All the teenagers groaned and sat there, looking tired even though it was the first lesson of the day. They were probably used to this. He was dropped onto a desk harshly and tried to gather his surroundings, clasping onto his face to try and ease the pain, but he panicked as soon as he felt a rough finger press him down into a sleeping position. He felt a shadow loom over him, and he tried to roll over, but his weak struggling didn't win against the girl's finger. Eventually, she rolled him over and pressed onto his chest. He locked eyes with the girl, who was smiling cruelly. He felt intimidated by this girl. Whatever this 'punishment' was, she seemed to be enjoying it too much.
The next class was science. Tom was glad that the punishment was over, even though it felt like it lasted forever. He clung onto a beaker and peered down at its contents: water. It was wet. He scribbled that down onto his worksheet and dropped it on the table. He was just about to go receive it when he was hit in the face with a giant elbow. BAM! He fell into the cold water. "HEY!" He screamed out, hoping to get someone's attention. "CAN SOMEONE GET ME OUT?".
He felt heavy thuds getting louder and louder, his eyes lighting up, thinking it could be a teacher, but he saw his settings change around the glass, into the air. Scared, he frantically tried to scratch at the glass, but it was no use. The glass tilted to an edge, and that was when Tom finally had the courage to have a peep outside. His eyes widened fearfully as he looked at the soil with a giant plant growing out of it. That wasn't the reason he was scared, however. An enormous caterpillar was waiting to probably devour him on the leaves of the plant. He desperately tried to cling on, but the water made it harder for him. Eventually, he fell off and covered his eyes, preparing for the worst. Instead of a soft, groundy bed of dirt, he felt something warm, something fleshy. He knew what it was, and spun around to go and thank who his saviour was, but his relief turned to despair - it was the girl who delivered the punishment last lesson. "You kinda look..." She began, instantly confusing Tom, before shaking her head and strictly saying, "Why were you meddling with other students' work? You should get a punishment for that!"
Tom took his chance and tried to explain his situation, but was cut off by the girl again."Uh-uh, no." She interrupted, poking him so he could fall over. He didn't even know her name, yet she was so annoying! He felt a quick gust of air against his face before he realised he was right in front of the girl's mouth. He was shaking in her arms when she began to speak again. "I just want to spend time with you. We met in a bit of a harsh way, and that's why I like you." She whispered, giggling. Tom was petrified. This girl loved him?! They were sworn enemies, how could he love her back, and who knows what she would do to him if he didn't like her.
