Jack wasn't sure if he'd ever see Marinel again, and wasn't exactly sure if he'd wanted to or not, but he was still evidently grateful for the gift the gigantic sea monster left around. He and his teammates had been just as surprised to survive the mission, and so was the King. They were all rewarded for their bravery, but of course the King took the diamond they had received. Jack was kind of mad about that, but there wasn't much he could do as he wasn't royalty.

Heaving a sigh, he made his way over to the docks, fastening his hat. He was gaining his courage as he clambered onto the small speed boat. He was going to visit Marinel, just a friendly check up to see what he was up to, and if it was still disturbing people out in the waters.

He started the engine and sat down as the boat set off to sea. He took in a long, deep breath. The water was very calming, stretching out for miles with nothing but blue and a faint scent of sea salt. The weather was quite forgiving too, the sun was out and nothing but a clear sky was up there.

He was jolted out of his surroundings when a gentle nudge to his boat startled him back. A small smile crept up his face - this was him.

"Hey Marinel!" He called out, racing over to the edge of the ship happily, waiting to see his new friend once again. He did admit a slight feeling of unease around Marinel however, the size difference was quite an intimidating factor. To his dismay however, he couldn't spot the great sea beast in his view anywhere. Where had he gone? Was he playing a trick on the crewmate?

Jack's heart sank when the dreaded sound of his engine failing filled his ears. "Crap..." he muttered, walking to check on the machine: it was broken for sure. "Marinel...? This... this isn't funny..." He spluttered, a little worry creeping up in his chest. Another nudge to the boat sent his shoulder ramming into the side. With frustration evident in his expression, he peeked over the edge, hoping to catch a glimpse of the sneaky monster.

To his shock however, he found himself surrounded by something not so friendly.

Sharks swarmed around his boat, their hungry jaws chomping at the boat's sides. It was surely going to break at this rate. "No!" He exclaimed, grabbing an oar and jabbing it into the shark's face. It swam away, giving him some time of relief, but not for long. They returned with more friends to come and devour what could be left of his boat.

"Get away, you stupid sharks..!" He shouted, his voice laced with panic. His heart was beating rapidly as he knew he was in active danger. The sharks wouldn't bother to listen to him though, not even if they could.

"C'mon..." He pleaded desperately. Soon, a sharp knock sent him off the boat, landing in the sea. He screamed, flailing about in the water as waves splashed about him. He squeezed his eyes shut as he felt his muscles go limp in the cold waters.

Soon, he felt a giant, scaly hand lift him out, the wadded fingers wrapping around him tightly. He dared to open his eyes, letting out an involuntary yelp, the large yellow eyes staring back at him.

"M-Marinel?!" He gasped, taking in his surroundings. He was at a dizzying height above the sea, and in the palm of a giant sea creature.

"Hey Jack! What are you doing?" He grinned, his sharp, white teeth glinting in the sunlight as his eyes locked onto the tiny, soaked form in his palm. With a heavy sigh, Jack gestured to his broken boat and the many sharks nipping at it. Marinel frowned, placing the human on top of his scaly head before bending down and swallowing the boat and sharks down whole, causing Jack to shudder.

"Sorted!" He exclaimed, sliding Jack back onto his hand with a small 'splat!'.

"Uh...thanks..?" Jack tilted his head, unsure if that really helped or not. "But um... how am I gonna get home?" He brought his knees up to his chest, shivering slightly.

Marinel frowned, pressing Jack up against his chest. "I'll bring you home, okay little Jack?"

Jack blushed slightly with embarrassment at the nickname, but nodded in reply. It was slightly warmer being against the beating heart of the giant monster.

He swam back to the shore with incredible speed, quicker than any boat could ever drive. Before he knew it, he was stumbling back against the ground with a sigh. "Thanks Marinel..." He smiled up at the creature.

"My pleasure." the beast flashed a toothy grin back. He turned back around with a nervous chuckle as he took in the faces of shocked civilians passing by.
