Running through the sharp blades of grass, Ren pushed them to his side as he made an effort to run away from the caterpillar. It was following him with dangerous speed, he didn't like it one bit. However, he reached the brick wall of a farmer's house, making no other direction available to him. Cowering in fear, he could feel his own body shaking as the insect edged closer to him. Ren closed his eyes and gave up there, even though he didn't want to. He could practically feel its movement, when suddenly-
"Oh, a caterpillar."
A plastic box slammed down onto the dirt, separating Ren and the caterpillar. It moved around its containment as he pulled a face at it, but he instantly crawled back to hug the wall again as a massive hand came reaching forward to pick up the box. "You can come in my green house! You'll love it there." came a gentle voice. It seemed to be talking to the creature. Ren was about to escape, but curiosity got the better of him when he witnessed a conversation happening. He stared up blankly - right there, in front of him, was a giant boy who looked to be about 14 or 15. He had pale blonde hair and light blue eyes, and he seemed to be wearing a small flower crown on his head. The boy placed the box right next to where the small human was standing.
Ren realized he had been spotted almost instantly, and tried his best to hide, but it was too late. The giant's eyes widened upon witnessing the small figure. "Oh, hey little guy...what are you doing in my garden?" he asked softly. Something about his voice made Ren feel warm and calm. "I-I w-was um..." he spluttered nervously. He had never talked to a giant before, and quite frankly, he didn't remember what he was doing in the garden before he got chased. Ren snapped out of his state of mind and ran to hide under a nearby flower, terrified of what would happen. He saw the petals move and he started to shake like a leaf. Quickly backing away from the reaching fingers, Ren grabbed onto the flower petals, but was wrenched away from it. "No need to be afraid, you're okay." the boy spoke again in his soothing voice. It didn't seem to be calming anymore, not when Ren was in his palms, his blood running cold. He just wanted to jump out of there in fear, but he knew that would lead to his death. "I'm Lotus by the way. What's your name?" Lotus smiled.
Ren tried to get the words out of his mouth so he wouldn't anger the giant, but he was still horrified at the situation he was in. "It's okay, take your time." a large digit came zooming towards him, and he let out a little yelp, covering his eyes. He expected the worst, but the worst didn't come. Instead, he felt a calming touch on his back, it almost made all of his limbs go to sleep. He removed his hands from his face to stare into the light blue eyes with confusion. This giant...was being so nice to him.
"I'm Ren." he mumbled anxiously. Although Lotus squinted to hear the little verdict, the edges of his mouth curved upwards. "You can come with me to pick flowers! I've been looking for someone to share another crown with." he exclaimed, and carefully placed Ren in his basket of flowers and petals. The strong scent and the silky material made Ren's eyes heavy, causing him to drift into a deep sleep.
