THE PREVIOUS night had been haunting Alex for the last couple of hours, making it difficult for her to get any sleep. The gunshots still echoed through her ears and the saltwater smell lingered in her nostrils. She just couldn't shake it.

The gravel crunched beneath her shoes as she walked down the long driveway towards Tanneyhill. She had been dying to talk to Sarah ever since the recent events and see how she was feeling.

As she passed a large tree, the house came into a broader view and Alex saw that there was a truck parked outside that hadn't been there when she first visited yesterday. The driver's side door opened and a familar face stepped out.

Alex's eyes lit up and she picked up her pace, hurrying to catch the new arrival before he disappeared inside the large maze of a house. "Rafe?" She called out, finally getting the baseball cap adorned head to look at her.

"Alex?" Rafe, the eldest of the Cameron children, squinted to get a better look at whoever was approaching. His lips crept up into a smile as he reconized the dark haired girl. "It's been so long, how've you been?"

Letting herself fall into his embrace, Alex smiled to herself. "I'm feeling better than ever now that I'm back in Outerbanks." She replied, stepping back, out of the hug.
