"COME ON GEORGE, WE'RE GONNA BE LATE!"

"COME ON GEORGE, WE'RE GONNA BE LATE!"

"I'll be right there!" He calls back to his wife, pausing on the staircase to adjust his suit jacket. If he never had to wear another uncomfortable tux he would be one happy man. But, as expected, Katherine had scheduled another lunch with some of the other Outerbanks Moms that she knew, and these lunches required this fancy attire.

Katherine said that it was important to mingle with other families in the area, especially the powerful ones, if the Thornbury's wanted to establish themselves as prominent people. George was just here to find work, he never got into all of the social status bullshit that his wife did, but he figured she had to be right about some of it.

"What are you looking for anyway?" Katherine yelled again, her voice carrying up the stairs after George, who had made it to the second floor.

"The keys to the back shed, I need to check on my boat!" He entered their bedroom, quickly doing a scan of the room, not catching a glimpse of the keyring.

"You can't do that later?!" Katherine was getting impatient.

"I'll just be a minute." George said, his voice quieter this time, spotting something in the closet. The storage boxes that were normally lined up perfectly on the top shelf above the racks of clothes that Katherine meticulously made sure were never out of place had clearly been messed with. One of them was sticking out from the shelf, looking like it was about to fall to the ground.
