Chapter 5

Parang naresolba lahat ng problema ko nung dumating si Caven. He's like a knight in shining armor, saving me from Papa and all the heartbreaks from Kale!

"Wow, that looks big!" ani Emma habang tinititigan ang malaking diamante sa kamay ko.

I nodded, staring at my ring. I never thought I'd wear anything like this. "We're engaged."

"That easily?"

"Uh, huh... Papa wants the wedding soon. He can't wait to have his own grandkids..." I groaned. "Paano kung ayaw ko ng diba? I mean, I want them but not now!"

She chuckled. "Almost said the same thing before I got pregnant with Ardie." Ngumuso siya. "Had him in my worst state, didn't know how to be a mother and I was alone..." she sighed. "But he brought me back to light, and I am more than thankful now to have my baby with me!"

My concept with kids... has always been the same since I was a kid. I didn't exactly want them. Hindi ako tulad ng iba na ang pangarap ay maikasal at magkaroon ng magandang pamilya.

I never wanted a husband, let alone a kid. I love kids but the thought of having one... makes me think of how they're going to suffer eventually and I couldn't take that. They'll deal with problems like me and they might get involve in a political dynasty plot by my father.

Ayoko lang na dumating sa punto na maging katulad ako ni Papa. I never had a good experience with parents, kaya paano na kapag nagpapalaki na ako ng bata?

Biglang dumating si Kale at inakbayan kami parehas. Magsasalita na sana siya nang makita ang nasa kamay ko. He gasped, seeing the bright diamond on my hand.

"Ikakasal ka na?!"

"Not this year. Next year." I told him.

"Uunahan mo pa ako?!" pasigaw niyang sabi.

"Eww, Kale! Talsik laway!" Inalis ni Emma ang akbay nito.

Bakas sa mukha ni Kale ang gulat. "W-what? Kakasabi mo lang na you're dating?!"

"Yeah, and I want to get married stat." I say nonchalantly.

Umawang ang labi ni Kale. Emma giggled.

"Who is he?" Kale crossed his arms. "Kailangan ko makilala 'yan. Kung pakakasalan niya ang best friend ko? Dadaan muna siya sa akin!"

I rolled my eyes. "Just focus on your wedding, dumbo. I'll have mine before you... beat that, huh?"

Iniwan ko na sila roon para tumingin ng mga pasyente. I checked the charts and saw Grazielle Castellano again. I sighed heavily, preparing myself for the worst. May posibilidad na andun siya.

I don't know how else should I act towards him after that. Iba na ngayon! Ikakasal na ako! Things might be too fast, but I think Caven is worth it and the thing with Gray... should never be revealed to him.

Hindi niya dapat malaman na hindi na ako virgin. That might change his perception of me, although personally I never really cared about the concept of it. It's just him and my father. At hindi lang isang beses kong nagawa ito... dalawa pa. Which makes it easy for me to be distinguished!

As expected, I saw him sitting beside her while telling jokes. Napunta sa akin ang tingin niya, pero iniwas ko ito. Sinimulan ko na ang pag tingin sa vitals ni Grazielle.

"How are you?" I asked while writing what I saw on the paper.

"Okay naman ako," sagot ni Gray.

Napataas ang kilay ko't tumingin sa kanya.
