Chapter 7

Humiga ako sa kama habang nakatulala sa ceiling pagkagising ko. I fell asleep immediately as soon as I got home from duty, hindi pa rin natapos ang pagsusuka ko sa umaga.

A lot has happened these past few weeks. Lia is pregnant. Kale is the father, but Gray wanted to be the father for the child. Sinabi ko kay Kale ang totoo sa nakita ko. I did the right thing but it only end up in chaos... Lia even thought I tried to ruin their relationship. Tsk, as if.

And as for me... I am also pregnant.

Turns out, it's been almost fifteen weeks of my pregnancy and the symptoms just showed up late. Ilang linggo na akong umiiyak dahil sa nalaman. The uncertainty of my future and my future child is worrying me the most. Wala ako pinagsabihan. Maski si Emma. She didn't know that I am indeed... pregnant for real. With Gray as the father of this baby...

Iniiwasan ko ang mga tawag ni Caven kahit papalapit na ang aming engagement party. Luckily, luck is on my side. Masyado din siyang busy sa mga cases kaya namove nang namove ang party.

I decided to book a car to Kale's condo. Bumili na rin ako ng cake na gusto niya para pagaanin ang loob niya. He's still heartbroken at the fact that Lia left him here, and everything that has happened. 

Pumasok nalang ako nang hindi nagpapaalam sa kanya. Pagkapasok ko, nakita ko lang siyang nakahiga sa sahig, nakatitig sa kawalan. Agad naman siyang napaupo nang makita ako. I shook my head and placed the food I brought on his counter. 

"You know, you should really learn how to actually text or tell me, when you're coming..." he drawled. 

"Uh, huh... maybe you should learn that too," I sarcastically smiled at him. 

He shook his head and transferred to the sofa. 

"Don't you have work? Alam mo dapat talaga naghahanap ka na ng bagong kaibigan, para hindi ako lagi ang pinupuntahan mo. Baka magselos fiancee mo nyan," he told me as I handed him his cake. "Wala ako gana-" 

I pushed the plate to his face. "Eat." I said authoritatively. "And you stink, bathe yourself." 

He rolled his eyes, as he started eating. Bigla ko naisipang puntahan si Kale dahil gusto ko siyang kamustahin. I know he's not doing well, right now and he needs me. 

"You know, Lacey... you can stop taking care of me like this. I'm fine, I can handle myself..." 

"Says who? You know you don't have to pretend with me. I am your best friend, Kale." 

Ngumuso siya. "I know, but I don't want to hurt you either. Alam mo namang-" 

"Shush," Inirapan ko siya. "Look, I'm over it. There's a reason I came too." 

Napukaw non ang atensyon niya. 

"What?" 

I sighed heavily. He's my best friend. Emma knows already. Tingin ko, dapat kong sabihin agad ito kay Kale, dahil baka magalit siya sa akin. He might think that I am betraying him because I have a baby with the guy who broke his relationship. 

"Please, don't be mad..." 

Kumunot ang noo niya. "Why would I be?" 

Kinagat ko ang labi. "I am pregnant..." 

He blinked a few times before his mouth dropped open and turned to a smile. 

"What? Talaga? Congratulations! What did Caven-" 

"Gray is the father..." 

His smile slightly disappeared. 

"Huh?"
