Minasahe ko ang ulo habang tumitingin sa mga charts. The day has been hectic and I couldn't even get a rest. Pakiramdam ko ang buong araw ay ilang taon na. The day is just too slow and tiring.

"Hi, Lacey!" Kale strolled towards me and puts his arm around my shoulder.

Akmang tatanggalin ko iyon pero lalo niya lang ako nilapit sa kanya.

"You look happy?" I crossed my arms.

"Oh, I am. I got the lot that I wanted!"

Tumaas ang isang kilay ko roon bago ngumiti sa kanya. Matagal niya ng plano ito. Pagtatayun niya raw ng bahay nila ni Lia.

"Well, congrats, then?"

He nodded. "Hindi ko pa nasasabi kay Lia, pero balak ko sabihin soon. Busy pa kasi kami sa paghahanda para sa kasal..." he trailed off before he stared at me to check my reaction.

"What?"

"Gusto mo pa rin ba ako?" he asked directly.

My eyes widened. I didn't expect that from him.

I laughed it off. "Ano ba 'yang sinasabi mo?"

He sighed. "I just want to know, so I would know when should I say these kinds of stuff to you. I may be insensitive and I just don't notice it."

Napailing nalang ako rito. "Wow, so now you realized?"

He's always been like this. Telling me of everything he is up to. He's too excited to tell me all of it. Who am I to restrict that happiness from him?

Ngumuso siya. "Paano ko naman itatago sayo, Lace? You're like my biggest best friend. Not even Prince or Camden knows my deepest secrets and future plans. Ikaw lang..."

That's true. We've been friends for too long that I know him better than anyone. Even Lia.

"At... hindi kita sinisisi. If you want me to stop telling you this kind of plans, I can—"

"Kale," I called his name and smiled. "It's okay. My crush for you was simply a high school and college thing. The truth is, I'm actually dating a guy right now..." I lied. I'm not dating anyone!

Nanlaki ang mata niya. "Totoong lalaki?"

I hit his arm. "Ano sa tingin mo?"

He held his arm. "Aww... sorry naman. Pero sino?"

"Uh..." I trailed off. "I'll tell you when we get along well, already." Tinalikuran ko na siya para iwasan ito. I lied so he wouldn't think about it anymore! Baka kasi pag sinabi kong gusto ko pa rin siya, baka mas lalong masira ang kung anong meron kami.

"Ha? Daya! Pangalan, taga-saan, anong trabaho? You have to tell me! I need to do a background check to see if he's worthy for you!" habol niya sa akin.

Binilisan ko ang pagtakbo. "Later, Kale!" I shout as I ran off with the charts.

Shit. Who should I even date to convince him that it's true?

"Ah!"

Nahulog ang charts kaya napapikit ako nang mariin. This day couldn't get any more worse! I've become clumsier and different these past few months! Is this because I finally experienced it? But that's impossible! No studies indicate any correlation with that!

"Sorry, miss—"

Natigilan siya ng magtagpo ang mata namin. I immediately looked away and coughed fakely. Mabilis kong kinuha ang mga gamit ko at hindi siya tiningnan sa mata.
