2 years later

It was hot and stifling. I was dancing in the middle of the club. High off my ass. It was an amazing feeling. The music was tingling down my spine and leaving goosebumps. I opened my eyes and stared up at the lights. I ran my hands through my hair and swung my hips in tune with the music. A rough hand snaked around my throat, pulling me closer until I hit a muscular body behind me. I turned my head sideways to see Georgino staring at me. I smiled and grinded my hips on his. He shot me a warning glare but mirrored my movement. His lips found my neck and he started sucking on it. One hand was traveling under my shirt and rolling my nipples between two fingers. I felt him grinning against my heated skin when I moaned.

Georgino pulled me outside of the club and laughed. I threw myself into his arms and smiled up to him. His eyes were sparkling and I groaned when he grabbed my ass and pressed me into the wall next to the entry. His lips latched onto mine and we moved in sync. I pulled away to get some much-needed air. Georgino grinned and started kissing down my jaw to the top of my shirt. When he couldn't get any lower, he stopped and rested his forehead against mine. "Fuck, Matteo. I need to dump holy water all over myself because of you." He said in a low voice and gave me a short and sweet kiss. His hands were traveling to my backside. I arched into him and tilted my head upwards so our lips would meet again. My hands were inside his hair. "Take me home and we can continue this." I whispered and Georgino moaned. "I need you Georgino." I added and he snapped. He pulled me to his car. Before we got in, we made out for a few minutes. "You are too hot for your own good." Georgino said accusingly and pushed me into the driving seat. I smiled and rolled the window down. We started driving and Georgino put his hand on my thigh. He always had one hand on the steering wheel and the other on my leg. It has been like that for two years and a timid voice inside me whished, it would be like that for the rest of our years. The last two had been wonderful. We were a couple. Well, Georgino nor I had officially asked each other to be boyfriends. It was just an understanding that we belonged together. We had kept it a secret though. Our families and the mafia didn't allow us to be open about it. But I didn't care. I liked our two-hour drives in another city to go on a date or dancing like tonight. It meant more time with him. "I love you baby." I said and brought his hand to my lips. Georgino smiled lovingly at me. "I love you too."

The next morning, Georgino and I walked down the stairs from his house. I nearly had a heart attack though when I saw his father sitting at the kitchen aisle. Alonzo was reading a paper and Georgino shoved me into the living room. I gave him a dark glare. "Hey, Dad. What are you doing here so early?" "Sit down. We need to talk." I heard Georgino's sigh. "I'm going to give Matteo's group the order for the warehouse raid." "What!?" Georgino exclaimed and the smile fell from my lips. "No, absolutely not! It is way too dangerous." "I was not asking for your permission. Besides, you have blocked a lot of jobs I wanted to give them. This one is non-negotiable. Matteo is an experienced thieve and so are his friends. I'll call him later and give him more details." "Dad!" Georgino said but his father stood up and left the house. I could hear him grumble under his breath. "What the hell?" I asked and stepped into the kitchen. Georgino gave me his 'I'm innocent' – look. "How many jobs did I miss out because you think I'm not up for it." "That's not the reason." He argued. "I'd love to hear them." Georgino threw his arms up. "You are only twenty years old and-." I interrupted him. "- and nothing. Admit that you think I'm too weak and stop bullshitting me." "You are not weak!" "Too dumb then?" "Ugh-. Stop twisting my words, Matteo." "Why shouldn't we do the warehouse raid?" Georgino pressed his lips to a fine line. "Fine! I don't want to worry about you for days until you are back." I gaped at him. "What?!" "You heard me perfectly fine. You are a hothead, and I don't even want to imagine what you could get yourself into. And again: you are so young. I don't understand why everyone thinks you guys are ready when you have so little experience in practically everything!" I felt a headache forming. "You are unbelievable." "You said the same thing last night." "Don't change the subject." I warned and Georgino groaned. "Oh, come on. Let's just eat breakfast." "No!" He rolled his eyes and started to make coffee. "How do you want your coffee?" "With nothing. I'm going now. You can talk to me again when you stop protecting me from – let's face it – nothing." "Oh, come on Matteo." He called after me, but I was already out of the door.

I loved Georgino but his overprotectiveness was very annoying. I stepped into the tattoo shop my friends and I liked to hang out in. Marco had bought it with his first kill money and we all had gotten our first tattoo together here when we were 12 years old - a smiley. It was to date my favourite tattoo of the hundreds I had. "Matteo!" Mario cheered and jumped off the leather going up to the second floor. He hugged me and I forgot about the spat with my boyfriend this morning. "Marco is brewing some coffee for us. Do you want one too?" "Yeah, where are Sandrino and Tino?" Mario pointed towards the back end off the shop. They were both huddled together under a blanket. Sandrino drawing most likely a new tattoo idea and Tino watching our artist. I shrugged out of my jacket and threw myself onto the two. They shouted but after a little wrestling they let me stay with them on the couch – without the blanket though. "So, did you get any new missions for us to do? I'm getting bored and I heard other groups have all gotten one yesterday." Tino had the ability to always bring my mood down the fastest. "Not yet." Before Tino could ask another question, Marco and Mario came with the coffee. "Are we going to one of the casinos today? I'm feeling lucky." "We are banned from all our underground casinos." Tino shrugged, still not sorry that he was the reason why Alonzo banned us forever from the casino business. "I didn't mean our family's casinos." "No way!" Marco interfered immediately. "Ah, come on Marco! It will be fun." Marco frowned when Mario didn't take his side. "I'm in." Mario said and this meant that Marco was in too. Which meant I was in. It was like a domino effect and a few hours later we all stood in front of the casino from one of our rivals. "This is so dumb." Marco grumbled but followed us across the street into the casino. It was by far not as grand as our families, but it would serve its purpose. "Tino. No drugs or alcohol, got it? We can have fun, but we need to watch our backs." 'No repeat of last time' I added in my head, knowing saying it out loud would result in a fight.

We were walking through the foyer discussing which table we would start with when my eyes met Georgino. I grimaced when recognition took over his face. "Guys-." I said but realized that they had already walked into the hall. I looked back to Georgino who was making his way towards me. Ah, fuck this. I followed the others inside the hall. I spotted Sandrino and grabbed his arm. "Georgino is here. Get out before he sees you too." Sandrino blanched and I remembered that they didn't know him as well as I did. He was scared shitless of him. "What about the others?" He still asked. "Yeah, what about the others?" Georgino's voice boomed behind us. Sandrino's eyes went round. "I can't believe you Matteo." He addressed me and I let my shoulders sink. There was no way I could talk our way out of this without an argument. After he had given the security guards the instruction to round up the others, we followed him upstairs in an office. "I thought this casino didn't belong to us." I said and Georgino smashed a glass with whiskey harder than necessary onto the table. "This makes this whole incident even worse." "If we had a mission, we wouldn't be so bored to get these ideas." Georgino raised his eyebrows. "Excuse me?" I wanted to argue my point but that was hard when you were stared down by your boss / lover. The door opened and in came Tino with Marco and Mario in tow. Marco was sending death glares at the back of Mario's head. "I can't believe we didn't even get to play. We risk everything and get nothing." Tino complained but fell silent when he noticed Georgino leaning against the desk. "Seeing as you sneaked into a casino you should already know this feeling." Georgino deadpanned. Tino lowered his head. "Sorry, boss." "You guys are idiots. Are you seriously craving danger that much?" He looked at me when he asked. "I can't believe I'm doing this." He pulled out a binder from his bag. "This is your new mission. I shouldn't give it to you because of this idiotic stunt." His eyes softened a bit when he saw us deflate. "But I am nice and want out of the doghouse." The others looked at him with a quizzical look, but he waved them off. I hid my happy smile and took the binder.
