"THIS IS ALL THE ammo I've got left

"THIS IS ALL THE ammo I've got left." Aguni stated as he held up his assault rifle.

"Take this." Akuji said as she gave him her own one. Not only did she have no idea how to work it, he was the strongest and most experienced with firearms out of them all so he would use it more effectively than any of them could.

Suddenly, Kuina's eyes grew wide. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a device that looked like a soda can with a bunch of wires sticking out of it. "I almost forgot," She stated, "My good luck charm. This is the bomb Chishiya made."

Aguni scoffed, "A lot of good that toy will do us."

"He made a flamethrower out of a water gun, remember? He gave Niragi all those burns." Kuina stated sourly, defending her best friend.

"I wish I was there to see it..." Akuji said, almost daydreaming about it in her head.

Arisu leaned over and grabbed the explosive from Kuina's hands, "We can lure him in and use it at close range. From the way it smells, I'm guessing the bomb contains kerosene."

"An ANFO bomb." Ann stated, clearly knowledgeable on the subject.

"Then, the explosion it makes won't be that big." Aguni added.

Arisu frowned, a plan formulating in his mind. He flicked his head to the side, "I can see a drugstore over there. If we can fill it up with gas, then the explosion will be bigger."

"Are you sure?"

"Probably."

"So you're saying that someone needs to lure the King of Spades over there?" Kuina asked. She was clearly prepared and willing to do the job.

Arisu nodded, "Yeah. I'll wait for him inside the store then trigger it."

"You'll die if you do that!" Akuji protested, eyes wide and panic forming in her chest. Alarm signals were blaring in her head; something about this plan seemed off, most likely due to how risky it was. But another part of her knew there was not much else they could do -- time was ticking, death was coming.

"No, I'll make it out." Arisu reassured her, "When the bomb detonates, if I'm on the second floor, I'll be able to survive the fall...probably."

Akane scoffed light heartedly, "You know, you say 'probably' a lot."

"His 'probably' is worth betting on. It's worth its weight in gold." Aguni told her, and the rest of the group in case anyone doubted him. He decided, "I'll be the bait and lure him in."

"It's reckless to try do it alone, though." Usagi said.

Aguni shrugged, "I've handled a lot worse."

Usagi shook her head in return, "No, we'll do it together."

"Yeah, we have a better chance then." Akane nodded in agreement, seeming to like Usagi quite well. Her strong physicality and even stronger determination most likely reminding her of herself.

"Just leave it to us." Kuina told the men of the group.

Akuji felt a smile make its way onto her face. She felt a strong sense of not only allyship and friendship but love for the women who surrounded her. It was like she always believed: one day, women were going to run the world.

It was clear Aguni did not like the idea of others being on the front lines of the violence but he relented with a sigh, "Alright then, let's do it. We'll lure him into that alley so he can't get ammo from the blimp. Then, we'll lure him into the drug store from there. I'll go first; while I'm doing that, you'll go the alley and draw him in."

The group seemed to freeze at that moment. It was like the reality of the situation dawned on them. Despite the fact they were confident seconds prior, seeds of anxiety began to grow in their hearts and their stomachs flipped over and over. They would either die or make it out with enough wounds to feel like they were dying.

"Arisu," Akuji said, almost breathless. "Before you go, I need to say--"

He cut her off with a shake of his head, "We can talk after, okay? We don't have a lot of time right now."

Akuji nodded in understanding. She had a really, really bad feeling in her stomach -- but that was just anxiety, right? They would all be fine, she hoped.

They had to be.

The group then dispersed, each person going their own way. The King was still killing everyone he could see, each hoard of players that attempted to attack him being sent to the afterlife in a gush of blood. Luckily, Aguni saved the few players that had managed to make it to the end by shooting at him.

The girls each took a different route to the alley, free from being shot at due to Aguni. Ann ducked behind a corner, Usagi and Akane hid on the roofs, Kuina and Akuji concealed themselves in a store nearby.

They heard loud thumps coming down the street, telling them that the King of Spades was coming.

There was no going back now.
