"Knight, we got to go,"
Yasmin looked up from the folder she was looking through, raising an eyebrow as Katsumoto grabbed his jacket off the back of his chair. "Why, what's going on?"
"Tracy Hutton," Katsumoto replied, putting on his jacket. "She's involved, probably behind at least two murders and has a partner."
"Really?"
Ok, maybe Yasmin shouldn't have sounded quite so pleased but even as Katsumoto glared at her she couldn't help but be a little happy Magnum had been at least somewhat proven innocent.
"Don't start," Katsumoto warned as he slid his gun into his holster. Yasmin just shot him the most innocent look. "Magnum's heading to Tracy Hutton's place now, we're meeting him there."
"I wouldn't dare gloat," Yasmin replied causing Katsumoto to snort in disbelief as they headed down the stairs, hurrying out to the parkade where Katsumoto's car was waiting.
Yasmin glanced at Katsumoto as he checked his gun. "Should I be worried?"
Katsumoto shot her a look. "Tracy killed at least two people, her partner was probably the one who shot Candler, I'd rather not be caught off guard."
Yasmin was silent as Katsumoto turned on the ignition and drove out of the parkade, a lightbulb going off in her head. "The paintings!"
"What?" Katsumoto didn't take his eyes off the road as Yasmin turned to look at him.
"The paintings, Tracy must have been the anonymous source who told you where they were," Yasmin's mind whirled as she shook her head. "But that doesn't make sense, why would she hand over the paintings-"
Yasmin cut herself off, eyes widening in realization. "Unless not all the paintings were actually found."
"You're saying the ones we have in custody are fakes?" Katsumoto finally looked at Yasmin, disbelief in his tone.
"Possibly, I mean Tracy was the one who verified them, and we know she has a role in this," Yasmin had another thought and glanced at Katsumoto, who seemed to be thinking the same thing. "If Tracy has a partner, who's the one who killed Candler-"
"-they're not going to be happy she turned over the paintings."
Katsumoto pulled into Tracy's apartment complex, getting out of the car and glancing over at Yasmin who was looking around cautiously.
The two had only walked a few feet away from the car before a loud crash made them whirl around to see, to their surprise, James Chen lying on top of the now smashed car.
"I hope you have insurance," Yasmin commented, causing Katsumoto to shoot her a look before the two looked up to see Magnum staring down at them.
"You're late."
Yasmin tried not to laugh at the expression on Katsumoto's face, wiping her amused expression off her face when he looked at her before he pulled out his phone and called for backup.
With Tracy-after being rescued from the closet Magnum had placed her in-and Chen now in the custody of HPD officers, Yasmin and Katsumoto followed Magnum up the steps of Tracy's apartment to her loft.
"Apparently I was right," Magnum began, referring to the Victorian painting that had been essentially the catalyst for everything. "This thing's worth a mint."
"Turns out there's another painting underneath it,"
He walked over to the easel that was slightly covered, removing the tarp to reveal a woman in a blue Victorian dress that had half her face removed to reveal a man underneath it. "There it is."
