Chapter 26
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"No."
"Are you sure?"
"Sehun I said no!" Mai raised her voice. Other customers turned around to glare.
She looked around and then sighed. "Look I'm sorry I didn't mean to yell."
"It's fine." Sehun replied with a quiet voice.
"I really didn't mean to yell." Mai assured
"I know."
The whispering in the cafe began to grow louder and louder as each second passed.
"You should at least take a bite of that muffin." Sehun recommended, wiping the counter with a dry towel.
"Isn't that her?" "No.." "Look, I'm sure its her!" The whispering got so loud, it was no longer a whisper.
In an instant, fingers began to point at Mai and camera flashes shot in every direction.
"Stop! If you are going to be rude please leave!" Sehun shouted.
The cafe grew with noise that the environment felt as if it were a supermarket.
"Slutt!!!"
Somebody from the crowd threw coffee at Mai. The dark color stained her shirt and spilled everywhere as the cup fell to the grind and shattered.
After that one throw, many followed. The noise repeated itself and she was hit with mugs and plastic coffee cups.
Mai closed her eyes and prepared herself for the next throw.
..
..
..
It stopped.
Mai opened her eyes and took a look.
It stopped, because someone had been blocking them.
Someone who had recent coffee spills all over his back had protected her.
Mai's eyes followed up slowly as her body trembled. She caught herself staring into the eyes of a familiar face.
That face she once saw. The same one that was still giving an unfriendly look.
Mark.
"Darawah (come with me)" he said with a bold and demanding voice.
He forcefully grabbed her arm and stormed out of the cafe.
Mark took her into a black car sat her down, staring at her. "Are you crazy? Stupid? Why did you let them do that to you?"
"I... Its just coffee!" Mai replied.
"And its all over you!" Mark pointed to her face which was still dripping wet.
Mai attempted to wipe it off with her damp clothes.
"What are you doing, stupid?"
"Will you shut up! My name isn't stupid!!!" Mai yelled.
"Either way, you're wet all around."
Quickly, he slid off his shirt and scooted closer to her.
She stared at hus rock hard abs which also appeared to be a little wet.
"What...what do you think you're doing?" Mai scooted further as soon as he came an inch closer.
Mark leaned his face towards her and stared. "You've got to be dreaming if you think I'd just offer this body to you."
He threw the shirt at her. "Use that to wipe your face, it's not as wet. When your done get out of my car."
Mai did as she was told and immediately threw his shirt back. "Don't try to help me." She stammered, opening the car door.
She left as Mark closed the door shut and leaned back on the car seat. "She's crazy." He whispered to himself.
He looked around his car and wiped away the coffee and noticed she left something.
"What? You must be joking."
It was her cell phone, which she forgot. He grabbed the phone and ran out of the car.
Mark went in circles looking for Mai. "Where the hell did she go?"
She was no where in sight.
He ran inside the cafe and back out.
"God damnit," Mark cursed.
"What is your relationship with her?" I voice out of nowhere asked.
Mark turned to look at Daehyun who was walking towards him in an intimidating manner.
"Who are you?" Mark asked, staring him up and down.
"Her boyfriend." Daehyun replied.
"Her boyfriend?" Mark laughed with sarcasm. "What a coward. You saw what happened and you let people throw coffee at her? What a pathetic bastard."
Daehyun paused for a second and ignored his comment. "What is your relationship with her!"
"Why does it matter?" Mark asked. He threw Mai's phone to Daehyun. "Give this to her, prick."
