Chapter 24
Mai rolled around her bed like a potato and continuously checked her phone. Nobody was texting her, and she wasn't expecting anybody to text her. She doesn't know why she kept checking her phone. It was like a habit.
''Mai, we're going out to dim sum, do you wanna tag along?'' Hoya knocked softly on the other side of her door.
''We're? Who's we're?'' Mai asked, sitting up.
''Daehyun,'' Hoya replied, slightly opening the door to peek at her.
Mai's eyes widened, she looked like a puppy. ''D-Daehyun?''
''Get dressed,'' he laughed.
''I'm not going, do you really think its a good time, especially after what just happened.''
Hoya clicked his tongue. ''Have a good night,'' he closed the door without hesitating.
Mai wondered how Daehyun and Hoya suddenly seemed like friends. It were as if they always had been. Somehow.
She sighed and picked up her phone to find a text.
''Hey!'' From Sehun.
''Hi, what's up?'' -Mai
''Lol, you're so Americanized,'' -Sehun
''Haha shut up, what's up?'' -Mai
''Work,'' -Sehun
''This late? and shouldn't you get off your phone then?'' -Mai
''I have the late night shift, and I'm on break. It would be nice to see you though,'' -Sehun
''What the heck, you sound cheesy.. haha'' -Mai
''I know I know.. anyway, pay me a visit and I might make you something nice to drink.'' -Sehun
''Are you bribing me with drinks?'' -Mai
''Maybe.... be here in ten min,'' -Sehun
Mai got off her bed and headed downstairs. She was about to exit until her mother stopped her.
''What is it?'' Mai asked, leaning against the door.
Her mother placed her hand on Mai's cheek. ''Thinking about you being kidnapped made my heart pound... no, it made my heart disintegrate. I don't want you leaving alone anymore.''
''But mom, I'm just going out to see Sehun..'' Mai argued. ''Didn't you increase security and cameras?''
She felt like she was being treated like a five year old, and it seemed awkward since her mother never really seemed to care about whatever she did.
''Only at our house. Just don't leave the house without at least being with Hoya,'' her mom insisted. ''If you want to play with Sehun, tell him to come over. Since when did you and Jae Hee's son become close anyways?''
Mai shrugged.
''Hmm I sense chemistry..'' she snickered.
Mai rolled her eyes. ''No, its not like that. and fine, I'll stay home.''
I should have left with Hoya.
She walked away, pulling her phone out to text Sehun that she couldn't go.

''What's this?'' Sehun pulled his hand out from his pockets and cuffed his mouth, blowing his warm breath into it. ''Why is it freezing all the sudden..''
