Till' The Stars Align: A Flickering Hope

Chapter 9

I glared at the Wisp, there was no way I would let a Wisp defeat me, not again.

"Woah, calm down, I'm not here to hurt you." The Wisp spoke, "I'm here to help." the Wisp sat down, his claws were not seen, "My name is Flicker, you are Capricorn and your friend who is invisible is Cancer." On cue Cancer re-appeared beside me,

"Capricorn, why didn't you hide! You're expecting pups! You need to be careful!" My friend scolded me gently. I rolled my eyes, bringing my gaze to the Wisp, known as Flicker, who was sitting in front of us,

"And why would you want to help? I bet one of your friends told you all about how they defeated a Darklight," I growled, directing the comment to my scars.

"It wasn't our fault, you were the one who took the first strike, I wasn't not going to fight back, you even gave me something to remember you by." Flicker rolled his eyes, showing a scar that trailed on the bridge of his nose to right above his muzzle. It looked like it had healed well, but the fur didn't seem to want to grow back on the spot where I had clawed at him.

"Let's not fight, Capricorn, we are going to listen to Flicker," Cancer exclaimed, giving me a cold glare.

"Fine..." I grumbled, glaring at the Wisp.

"No other hybrid knows this but-" Flicker stopped, as if pondering if he should tell the two Darklight's, "Our queen has died... We had gotten a new leader named 'Codex' . At first she was a great leader, but now I fear the destruction of our kingdom and the island. She almost never leaves the library now. We have an heir to the throne as well, Sleet."

"Why would you think that this Codex shouldn't be queen anymore?" I asked bitterly.

" I've been having these...visions. Of a blue moon rising and the island breaking, with Codex in the center of it all, with someone else..." Flicker replied, his gaze darkening. I saw Cancer step in, opening her mouth to respond to the Wisp,

"I've had the same visions, but I'm not sure if we can do anything to stop it, the blue moon isn't for a while, so we just need to prepare for what might be the end of our island..."
