March 29, 1986
"Okay. I wanna run through it one more time." I turned away from the front and looked at everyone in the RV. I needed to make sure that everyone knew their part. I needed to know they could do this.
"Lia, we have been over this like 10 times already." Steve whined as he brushed his hair out of his face.
"I don't care if we have done it 100 times. This plan needs to be stamped into all of your brains." I narrow my eyes at him. Steve straightens his back as he realized I was being serious and mumbled a sorry.
"Phase one." I said as I pulled my eyes away from him to look at Robin. Testing her.
"We meet Erica at the playground. She'll signal Max and Lucas when we're ready." I nodded to show she got it correct.
"Phase two." I looked over at Steve.
"Max baits Vecna. He'll go after her, which'll put him in his trance." Steve rubbed the back of his neck waiting for me to say he is right.
"Phase three?" I asked Dustin after I nodded to Steve that he got it right.
"Me and Eddie draw the bats away." Dustin smiled as Eddie playfully shoved his head
"Four?" I looked at Nancy. She is still mad over the whole Vecna being 001, my brother. I waited as she glared at me before she cleared her throat.
"We head into Vecna's newly bat-free lair and...Flambe." She whispered as she pointed to the Molotov cocktails Robin was holding.
"Nobody moves on to the next phase until we've all copied. Nobody deviates from the plan, no matter what. Got it?" I sternly said as I looked at everyone.
"Got it." They all replied.
"Good. Then let's go." I opened the RV door and stepped out. I held the door open as they all piled out of the RV. When Eddie came out last, I slammed the door closed and followed after them.
We walked through a small woodsy area before we reached an opening. The trailer park. We all rush across the park, heading for Eddie's home. I stayed in the back just in case while Steve lead everyone inside Eddie's home. Once inside I saw Steve setting his weapons down. I watched as he grabbed onto the rope.
"Be careful." Dustin and I said at the same time.
"Thanks, buddy," Steve said to Dustin. Steve winked at me as he tapped Dustin on the shoulder.
"Here goes nothing." Steve said as he pushed himself up to climb the rope. As he was halfway through, Steve paused.
"Wha-" I stepped forward to see what was wrong, but Steve just did a cool flip and landed on his feet. I smile and go to clap my hands as he looked up at me.
"What does he want us to do, applaud?" Robin sarcastically said, she turned to look at me and noticed my hands. "AJ! Don't clap! That just boosts his ego!" Robin grabbed my hands and pushed them down.
