Minghao, although being so used to his own episodes, wasn't so good at treating hypoglycaemia. Usually, Junhui or Seungcheol gave him his injections during episodes, and he was usually left barely lucid to let his members help anyway.Minghao really wished he had learnt a bit more when their next diet came around.
Only a few members were on a diet, which was a fact that pissed off everyone else tremendously. All of the members were perfect sizes, and they could all dance and sing as well as usual.
Minghao was thankful to be in the group of members who weren't put on the diet, alongside Jeonghan, Joshua, Wonwoo, Mingyu and Seungkwan.
Seungcheol, Junhui, Soonyoung, Jihoon, Seokmin, Vernon and Chan were the members forced to diet.
Junhui wasn't happy about it, he spent the first day complaining about it to Minghao. It shut him up Minghao snuck him a few snacks.
For the many years they'd been together, Minghao would have thought he knew more about his hypoglycaemia, but God was he wrong...
The forced diet had been going on for just over a week when it happened. Minghao walked into the kitchen on one of their days off to find Chan lying on the floor. He looked so pale and tired.
Minghao dropped to the floor beside him, shaking his shoulder.
"Chan? What's going on?" Minghao asked, his voice frantic and scared.
Chan shook his head. "'M so tired..." He whispered, voice sleepy and calm.
Minghao was just about to run off to fetch help when Chan's body tensed up against the tiles of the kitchen floor and he started seizing.
Minghao covered his mouth with both hands as his eyes teared up and he let out a sob before he tucked his hands under Chan's head to stop it from hitting the floor.
It wasn't long before Minghao's crying attracted the attention of a few members.
Very different from Minghao, Junhui and Soonyoung immediately knew what to do, Junhui grabbing Minghao's bag and Soonyoung taking Chan's convulsing body from Minghao.
Minghao was left crying in the corner of the kitchen, pressed against two cupboards in the corner of the room while he watched as Junhui came back with his bag, took out and prepared Minghao's glucagon injection and gave it to Chan. Once he'd received the injection, Chan's body stopped convulsing and he fell limp against the floor, giving Soonyoung the chance to pull Chan up into his lap and against his chest.
It was only then that the other two men noticed Minghao.
He had moved across the room in his panic, now tucked between a cupboard and the kitchen wall. His legs were drawn up to his chest and his face was hidden in his knees. They could hear the loud sobs and hyperventilating as panic clouded Minghao's senses, the only thing in his mind being the picture of Chan's seizure.
While Soonyoung picked up Chan and carried him out to help the maknae wake up, Junhui slowly approached the panicking Chinese boy, gently taking his hand and making him flinch.
"Hao, it's okay. Chan's just about to wake up. Why don't we go see him?"
Minghao clearly wasn't thinking straight, shaking his head and trying to back further away from Junhui. It was impossible with his position, tucked between a cupboard and two walls.
Instead of trying to negotiate with the clearly delusional boy, Junhui instead grabbed his hands and dragged Minghao out from his hiding spot. Minghao screamed, thrashing and crying as Junhui pulled him out into the middle of the kitchen to try and calm him down.
Minghao's crying and screaming was attracting more members.
Junhui sent them all off except Mingyu and Seokmin, hoping that some age familiarity would help Minghao come back.
Minghao was sobbing in the middle of the kitchen, lying on his back with his arms starting to claw at the base of his neck.
Mingyu gently took Minghao's hands and pulled him into an upright position, giving Junhui the chance to climb behind him while stopping him from hurting his neck.
In this position, Junhui could feel just how tense Minghao was. His mind must have been completely clouded. Even in the worst times for the group, Minghao usually kept a level head and stayed calm. This was not calm Minghao.
Minghao just looked so scared, eyes cloudy and hands trembling in Mingyu's grip.
"Hao, honey. Please come back. We're right here for you. Please come back to us." Seokmin said, voice soft and reassuring.
As Seokmin spoke, Junhui saw Minghao's eyes focus a little, a hint of clarity entering his brain.
Minghao took a deep breath and turned his head into Junhui's chest, still panting a little.
"HaoHao. Come on, love. We're right here for you." Mingyu spoke next, voice deep and steady to keep Minghao calm.
Minghao looked up at Mingyu, looking a lot less foggy than before as they finally started pulling him out of his panic.
"That's it HaoHao. Keep coming back. We'll be here for you." Junhui whispered, speaking quietly beside Minghao's ear.
Minghao finally caught his breath, letting Junhui hold him a little closer as he started coming down from his panic attack.
As the three men comforted him, Minghao stared off across the room, gaze exhausted and absent as he sat silently in Junhui's arms.
Once it seemed like Minghao was almost asleep in his arms, Junhui hoisted Minghao up and thanked the other two for their help, relieved that Minghao was calm again.
Mingyu and Seokmin said goodbye to Minghao before Junhui carried him to their bedroom, setting him down on the bed and pulling the covers over them.

In the morning, the first thing Minghao did was ask about Chan. He shook Junhui awake the moment he woke up and asked how Chan was after his seizure.
Junhui shook his head. "I don't know. But we can go and see him in a second."
Minghao nodded and jumped out of bed, grabbing his hair brush to detangle his messy blue hair.
While Minghao was brushing his hair and Junhui was pulling on a hoodie, Minghao admitted that he didn't remember much after seeing Chan start to seize. Junhui filled him in a little, leaving out a few details for the sake of Minghao's sanity.
Minghao hated being seen as a weak person, even deep in his episodes, he would try to act strong, even when he was lying on the floor recovering from seizures or on the verge of a fainting spell with an oxygen mask fixed over his face. He hated being vulnerable.
Once Minghao was finished brushing his hair and Junhui was fully dressed, Junhui took Minghao's hand and led him out of the room.
Junhui knocked on Chan and Soonyoung's door a few times before pushing it open to see both boys fast asleep in their own beds.
As the door opened, the two woke up, Soonyoung sitting up in bed while Chan simply groaned and rolled over.
Minghao immediately rushed over to Chan's side, tucking himself into the bed beside the Maknae and holding him tight.
"Oh, Channie. You scared me so much." Minghao whispered, voice soft.
Chan chuckled quietly and returned the hug, holding Minghao's smaller body in his arms. "I'm okay. I'm fine. I'm right here, okay?"
Minghao nodded, closing his eyes and letting Chan hold him.
Instead of stealing Minghao away, Junhui left Minghao with Chan to get some more rest, closing the door behind him to let him sleep and thankful that Minghao had calmed down.
