Season 1, Episode 9: Quake, Rattle and Roll

As Hiccup works on his latest work, Astrid looks through the large spyglass. Hopefully if the Twins have built the lookout tower, we can see a lot farther than ever before. Knowing them, I'll be pleasantly surprised if they do it successfully.

"All right. I think one more plasma blast should do the trick, bud." Hiccup says.

I hear Toothless fire at the machine. I feel the smoke brush against my face, before Saviour flaps his wings, clearing it. Astrid and Hiccup both cough away the smoke.

"Great job!" Hiccup's praise causes Toothless to purr happily.

"Nice. I can see straight to the horizon." Astrid says.

"That should make it harder for anyone to sneak up on us." Hiccup says happily. "Now, I wonder how the twins' lookout tower is coming along."

"I can only imagine." Astrid stands up and grabs my hand, running her thumb over my knuckles.

"Hey, we can give them some credit." I interlock Astrid and my fingers and bring her hand up to kiss it.

"We'll see." Astrid says in an amused voice.

As Hiccup is installing the large spyglass into the floor of the platform, Snotlout walks over out of boredom. Astrid and I disconnect our hands, but still interlock our pinkies. It's not long until Barf 'n Belch flies in, landing on the platform.

"Hiccup! Drop everything you're doing and bring your face!" Tuffnut's excitement is almost palpable.

"Prepare to be rubbed." The smugness in Ruff's voice is simultaneously alarming and intriguing.

As everyone follows the Twins back, I hold Astrid back for a moment. I pull her into a very passionate kiss. After a moment of surprise, she kisses back fiercely. I lead her to the wall, where she instinctively presses me against it and out of view of anyone. I let her start to get into the mood. I breath heavily as she kisses down my neck, even softly moaning as she lightly bites on the base of my neck where it connects to the shoulder. I run my fingers through her hair and pull her back into a kiss, before slipping out from under her. She makes a noise of protest as I hop onto Vision.

"Come on, babe, we have to see what Tuff and Ruff did." I don't even try to hide my smug smile as Vision turns and quickly takes after the others. I can only imagine the thoughts running through my girlfriend's head. I'm definitely going to pay for that, but oh so worth it.

We follow them back to the area the tower is to be built. We dismount and Astrid tells me that Barf 'n Belch are using their body to block something. Tuff and Ruff start putting on a show-like announcement.

"Dragon riders, you asked for it." Tuff announces. "We built it. Presenting you—" Ruff mimics a fanfare. "—with your new rock lookout tower!"

"Yeah!"

Barf 'n Belch fly up. There is a silence only broken by a distant seagull. The air perceptively shifts from excitement to disappointment.

"You guys never disappoint, do you?" Snotlout asks rhetorically.

"What? No! Wait! It was here a minute ago!" Tuff's confused babbles falls on deaf ears. "What did you do with it?"

"I didn't do anything with it!" Ruff defends.

"You lying she-beast!" Tuff's confusion has quickly turned to anger. "You were always jealous of my rock tower."

Ever one to match her twin's energy, Ruff also gets mad. "Your rock tower?!"
