S1, E10: Have Dragon Will Travel, pt 1

As we finish up restocking our supplies at Berk, Hiccup has another reminder for some people.

"Okay, now remember, gang, we're only taking absolute necessities to Dragon's Edge," says Hiccup.

Snotlout's laughs. "I guess we're leaving you behind, Fishlegs."

"Come on, you're better than that, Snotlout," says Fishlegs, putting more rocks into Meatlug's saddle backs. "Oh, wait. No, you're not."

Meatlug tries to take off with the extra weight, but can't make it more than a couple feet off the ground. "Come on, girl, you can do it. Lift with your legs."

Hiccup walks over. "Fishlegs."

"What? Berk granite has a nicer finish. And trust me, you want the nicer finish." Meatlug farts, right in Fishlegs's face, causing him to cough. "Point illustrated."

There's a clang of metal on metal, before Tuff grunts and says, "Not bad. That's a two. Do it again."

Another clang.

"Yeah, three. I still think we could do better."

"Yes, we can!" Ruff says, hitting him again with what I can assume is a mace.

"Ouch! Yeah, that is a four. Yep. One, two, three, four." Tuff falls over.

"I'll tag it and bag it." Ruff says.

With slurred words, Tuff says, "I'll tell you what. Any of you four need anything, I'll be right here."

I can hear the familiar angry footsteps of Dad, Gobber, Bucket and Mulch making their way towards us. I sigh. What did the twins and/or Snotlout do now?

"Oh for the love of... Ruff, Tuff, Snotlout, what did you three do now?" I ask.

"What? I didn't do anything!" Snotlout protests.

"Us neither." Ruff says.

I put my hands on my hips and wait for them to confess. It takes about three seconds, before Snotlout starts confessing.

"I cheated at Orlog with my dad, I covered Tuffnut's bed with yak dung, I sent a bunch of love letters to Gothi signed by Fishlegs, I—"

"You what?!?" Fishlegs gasps, mortified.

"Hey, what are you doing?!" Ruff asks.

"I don't know. I just feel the urge to confess everything," says Snotlout.

By the time he finishes, Dad and his entourage have made his way over to us. "Which of the usual suspects was out sinking boats on their dragon this morning? I have my suspicions."

Oh, that is entirely not what I had in mind. But it can't have been any of us, cause we've been together all day, much to Astrid and my chagrin.

"Sinking boats?" Hiccup and I ask in unison.

"Bucket and Mulch saw the whole thing," says Dad. "And don't try convincing me that there's anyone else in the archipelago who could pull something like this off! Well? I'm waiting."

I feel the stares as we all look around at each other. There's a long silence, before—

"It was me, Chief!" Tuffnut confesses, standing up on his knees. "I couldn't control myself. I had to do it." He shuffles over to my Dad. "What's wrong with me? Why do I do things like this? Why doesn't anybody do anything for me stop me? Can't you all see that it's a desperate cry for help?"

Tuff devolves into sobs as Ruffnut walks over. "What are you talking about? None of that happened."

Tuff gets up, not even a waver in his voice, "I know. I always wanted to confess to something. How'd it play? I didn't overdo it, did I?"
