(please excuse any mistakes that I didn't catch)

The sea is beautiful, but it isn't my home so it's taking me a little longer to get comfortable with everything around me

Tsireya and Aonung were teaching us how to ride ilu's, I was fine with my ikran but like dad said we have to learn their ways if we want to stay here

I swear I'm only doing this for him and mom cause if it wasn't for me I wouldn't care to learn any of this

"These are the Ilu's," Aonung said knocking me out of the trance I was in

It felt like my breath got caught in my throat when I looked beside him, there was another boy who stood a little taller than Aonung, he had long curly hair and he had way more muscles then Aonung

"Niri this is A'teyo our older brother," Tsireya said

I hated that I find him attractive, I didn't want to meet any new people because as soon as we leave here I would forget about them

"Niri'tu right" His deep and raspy voice danced through my ears making me look up at him "Niri, just call me Niri," I said watching as he nodded his head

"Okay well, let's learn how to ride some ilu" I guess he could see how awkward it was

He begins clicking his tongue "This is Apollo" he said rubbing the ilu head

"You did well for your first time," Ateyo said smiling at me "I'm just a natural," I said popping my imaginary collar before laughing

"Your smile is beautiful," he said out of nowhere making me slightly smile "Thank you Ateyo," I said before I heard my dad call me

"I'll see you later yeah," I said watching as he nodded his head "yeah"

"Yes"? I stood in front of my dad "Who's that" he asked with his eyebrow raised

I knew he would act like that he and neteyam are the worst because I never talked to boys back at home

And when I did it was either me trying to kill them or threatening to kill them "That's just the Cheifs oldest son," I said

"What'd he want" I rolled my eyes "dad chill he was just teaching me how to ride the ilu," I said laughing "I was just asking," he said walking away

"Netty give it now" I wailed, we were all sitting around the fire eating dinner and neteyam thought it would be funny to take my knife

"I swear if I get in trouble because of you, you better sleep with one eye open" I whispered so mom or dad wouldn't hear me threatening him cause that alone would get me in trouble

"You'll be fine now eat," he said placing my knife under his leg, I tried my best to hide my empty knife holder while I finished eating

Dad banned me from taking my knife out at dinner because then I would get distracted by playing with it and I would never eat my food because I would forget about it and lose my appetite

He told me that if he saw that my knife holder was empty I was in big trouble

"Is this payback because I stole your bow last night?" I asked and he nodded "It is," he said

Dude!! He can't be serious, I needed to use his bow because dad still hasn't given me mine back and I want to practice my skills

"Netty it's not funny anymore," I said rolling my eyes, he was going to keep it dad noticed that my knife was out

I slapped his arm before turning away "Oww" I huffed under my breath

"What are you two whispering about," mom asked making dad look over at us "Nothing," I said before neteyam could respond

Which made dad and mom raise their eyebrows at us "Niri, look at me" I turned my head towards him only my head though

"Turn your whole body" Fuck! I turned around watching his eyes scan over my body

"Where's your knife," he asked "I don't know," I said side eyeing neteyam "Yes, you do," he said giving me the eyes

Great I was definitely in trouble all because of Neteyam

I swear it was one incident where I was playing with my knife out at dinner and Lo'ak made me mad so I threw my knife at his leg

It's not like I was trying to kill him

"Dad come on" I huffed as he drugged me away by my arm, Neteyam better sleep with his eyes open tonight
