Chapter 3- Terror of the Waste

Weiss stared at the creature and the creature stared back at her. Weiss was scared, and for good reason too. While the reptilian was only a little bigger than an average beowolf, she didn't know what it was capable of, not to mention she didn't have the increased strength and protection that an aura provided.

The creature lunged at Weiss at an explosive speed, however  Weiss was no slouch when it came to her reaction time, she dodge the claws by stepping to the side while simultaneously doing a little slash at it's legs.

" Just as I thought, it's scales are too think and my blade is too dull!" 

Using the little space she made, weiss took the opportunity to run and create some distance from the creature, she hoped that it would just give up and decide that chasing her was not worth it's energy, unfortunately the creature was tenacious and fast as it sprinted on all fours towards Weiss.

It lunged again, this time Weiss did a front flip over the creature to avoid it.
The reptile swiftly turned around and started swiping at Weiss with it's razor sharp claws, the heiress began to bob and weave like she was in a boxing match as she dodged every swipe only by an inch, with expert speed and precision, she was slashing various  parts of its body as she parried and weaved through its swipes.

"Damn, it's scales are too thick, I can't damage it with this blade...if only I hand myrtenaster...."

Weiss backflipped to dodge a big swipe but she was a bit off as it scratched her leg

"At this rate, it's just going to pick me apart..."

Weiss couldn't run either since the creature was much faster in a chase, she needed to find a weakness, the eyes were the obvious answer but it's eyes were small and still surrounded by scales and her machete wasn't exactly made for pinpoint precision. Aside from the tiny oasis, it was basically an empty field, nowhere to hide and no where to run.

"I don't have a choice, I have to go for the eyes..."

Weiss's fatigue was gone, it was replaced by adrenaline, she was dodging ducking and parrying every attack while trying to land a hit on its eyes and knowing full well that even one mistake could lead to her demise.

Weiss was starting to accumulate a few lacerations on her body. Even with adrenaline, Weiss could feel her fatigue gradually coming back, this fight would not last much longer, she would not last much longer.

Weiss knew she had to take a chance, before she ran out of steam.

"This is going to hurt..."

She mentally steeled herself for what she was about to do.

"You want to eat me so much!!?, then come and get it!!"

Weiss dropped her defense and put her left leg forward in order to taunt it.
The reptile took the bait and lunge at her again , but this time Weiss would not dodge.

The next thing Weiss knew, it was already knowing in her leg.

All according to plan but...

"Gaaaahhh!!!"

It hurt like hell, it was trying to bite her leg off and as much as Weiss wanted to scream more, she need to proceed with her plan before her bones break.

Now that the creature can't dodge, she had all the opportunities to aim for its eyes.

Weiss raised her machete and proceeded to repeatedly stab its eyes hoping to get a clean stab, after a few tries, she finally got a hit on the third, it was a deep one too and caused the creature to reel back due to the pain.
Weiss could barely stand due to the bite injury, she was just hoping that she got the creature to back off.

The creature was writhing and shaking its head trying to get the pain out, there was a moment where Weiss thought it was going to retreat, but when it stared at her again and got down to all fours as it prepared itself to pounce again, she knew it wasn't going to just book it.

"Oh...you have got to be joking...."

The heiress was on her last leg, literally.
She would fight till the end, but the chances of her landing a hit on the other eye were slim.

"Well....if I'm going to die here, then I'm going to make sure, you don't come back to whatever hole you crawled out from you stupid lizard!!"

She readied herself as she stared down the giant lizard that was about to kill her.

Before the reptile could move however, a gunshot can be heard a few meters away, and half a second later, the remaining eye was pierced by a bullet and the creature reeled back again in pain.

Weiss was surprised and immediately looked to the direction of the gunshot.
A girl wearing a green mechanic suit holding a hunting rifle could be seen standing on a small hill.

"Go for the spot in the middle of its stomach and chest area!! That's its weak spot!!!"

Weiss was still surprised but decided to think about it later, if what the girl shouted was right then she might have a chance.

Weiss lunged her self is front of the creature who could no longer see and stabbed it right at the spot between the stomach and chest. The momentum pushed the creature to the ground and Weiss proceeded to stab it again and again and again on the same spot.

By the time the creature stopped moving, it was already a bloody mess due to Weiss's multiple stabbing.

Weiss stumble back wards and fell on the ground, her injured leg was no longer able to support her.

"It's dead...I actually killed it......"

Weiss was light headed, probably from losing blood but she still saw the girl who saved her approach her.

"Hey, are you all right?, you're losing a lot of blood..." the girl said in a slightly panicked voice

Weiss chucked a bit and smiled "Yes, I can see that...."

"Here I have a few stimpaks, it should fix that leg of yours"

"A what now....."

That was the last thing Weiss said before her consciousness vanished again.
