It was almost night time by the time the pair had arrived in the Abernathy farmland. On the way there, both girls had to go through a radioactive field and fight of a bunch of bloatflies which would have freaked Weiss out if she hadn't already fought giant cockroaches before hand.

Fighting the flies were no problem, it was what happened when you killed them that really irritated Weiss.

"Ughhh you could have warned me that those things explode when they die, now I'm covered in.....their insides...ughhh" Weiss said, repulsed by the innards that now coat their clothes.

"My bad hehe, Those flies just came out of nowhere and I just started bashing at them.." Mary said with an apologetic smile.
"Dont worry we have a water pump near the house"

Weiss sighed in defeat for the hundredth time today and decided to worry about something else.
"Ok, aside from the fact that this is very much gross, are you sure being covered in their insides isn't radio active?"

"Oh, they are...."

"What!?, we have to get these things of then!!"

"Relax, the radiation they give small compared to being near those yellow barrels"

Weiss grimaced as she remembers her experience with said barrels. She wanted to complain more but opted to just stay silent until they got to the house.

A few steps later, they found themselves greeted by a man wearing rugged farming clothes, he loomed like he was just finishing up his work for the day and was putting away his tools.

"Mary, youre back."

"Hey dad, I got the scrap we needed, even found a few aluminum cans" Mary said as she emphasizes the sack that was currently on the cart.

"Good work dear, we definitely need those for the generators"

The man who was apparently Mary's father turned his attention towards the girl who stood behind his daughter.

"And who's your friend?"

Weiss nervously stepped forward and introduced herself.

"I'm Weiss Schnee, its a pleasure to meet you sir"

Weiss was about to, tell the man what she told Mary about where she was from or the lack of said information when Mary suddenly cut her off.

"She's from an entertainment caravan, she was on her way to diamond city when her group was attacked by a death claw, she got left behind and was almost killed, thats when i found her and i shot it with Bessy over here." Mary said as she patted her rifle proudly.

"I was thinking that we should let her stay with us for a while, at least until  her injury is completely healed."

For whatever reason, Mary was now covering for Weiss, the heiress  immediately understood the what she was trying to do and just went along with it.

Mary's father had now brought his attention back to Weiss. He examined her from head to toe and found that there were no signs that indicated she was a raider.

"Is that so?.....Well I'm Blake, its nice to meet you young lady." Blake then extended his hand to weiss.

"Likewise sir..." Weiss smiled as she took Blake's hand and shook it.

"Any friend of Mary is a friend of ours, you're welcome to stay but don't cause too much trouble and you have to help out around here too."  Blake said lightly but also sternly.

Weiss was relieved that Blake bought her story, she turned to Mary and silently thanked her for the assist.

"Go wash your selves so you can introduce Weiss to the rest of the family okay dear?"

"Okay dad..."

Blake walked away towards the area near a melon farm where he was putting away his tools.

"C'mon Weiss the water pump is this way"

Weiss immediately followed Mary at the prospects of washing herself from the filth that was currently covering her body.  Weiss the stares at Mary while following her.

Mary was definitely an odd girl, not many people would help out a stranger she barely knew, not even back on remnant. Well...she knew of one person but that was beside the point.

In this world where it was very dangerous to put your trust in people, Mary still helped her despite the possible trouble that could come with it.
Weiss felt nothing but gratitude towards Mary.

"Hey Mary?"

Mary faced Weiss as they continued to walk towards the pump.

"Whats up Weiss?"

"Thanks for covering for me back there."

"Oh don't worry about that, I already agreed to help you right?"

"Right..."

Weiss continued to stare at Mary for a while longer even after their small conversation. Then she thought about something, the person that found her first in this world could have been some psycho , a pervert or these "raiders" they keep mentioning. But no, the person who found her was a kind person who was willing to take a big risk in helping her out, she got pretty lucky. Weiss then smiled at her realization and decided to promise her something.

"I'll pay you back for your kindness one day..."

Mary stared at Weiss for a moment and smiled at her.

"Ill hold you to that then...."

By the time the two reached,  the bathroom which was an old van refurbished to be a bathroom, Mary remembered that there was only one bathtub. She then got an idea and glanced at Weiss with a rather mischievous look.

"Actually, how about you start making it up to me by scrubbing my back its been a while since i scrubbed it, hehe"

"What!?" Weiss exclaimed a bit flustered.

"Ah, but don't worry ill be doing the same for you, I'm sure you'll want to be squeaky clean after the whole insect guts thing right?"

"W-we can't bathe at the same time!!" Weiss yelled as her face became redder

"Sure we can, it saves water that way.."

As much as Weiss wanted to protest, that reason made too much sense, water was probably an expensive resource in the wasteland, not to mention the fact that she wanted to be as clean as possible after all that. Weiss usually had a back scrub in order thoroughly clean herself, but alas, her bathing essentials weren't teleported with her.

"Ok...fine, let's just get this over with.."

"Yeey, hehe"
