It was fucking bright.
He rummaged through his bag for the cloth he packed earlier to use as a blindfold. It was transparent enough to see through but dark enough to block most of the light. He knew it was definitely going to take some time to adjust but right now, he'd rather return to the darkness of hell.
Because of the tint of the carriage window and dark fabric over his eyes, it was a bit hard to see outside clearly but he could see the bodies of other creatures staring back at him. He couldn't tell the expressions they each wore on their faces but he knew for sure that fear was one of them.
With a few bumps in the road, Soobin and Namjoon jolted upwards every now and then, his ba cursing to himself before groaning loudly. A lot of moody shifts from this man. Soobin only paid attention when the carriage paused abruptly and not so long after, one of the coachman phantoms opened the carriage door to a world where it wasn't so dark.
Soobin stepped out of the carriage after his ba, both of them pausing to stare at the house Soobin would stay in, in Limbo. Just from the outside appearance and structure of the house, it was already quite different to the home Soobin grew accustomed to as a literal cave with demon made rooms. It looked like those homes the bloody flesh bags made polluting this world. He's guessing that instead of making individual homes to suit each creature, a home human's live in was to make it easier. How boring.
"Son, I guess this is uhm where you'll be staying." Namjoon cleared his throat, the obvious uneasy feeling was seen on his face but Soobin wouldn't blame him. Just the home alone gave a weird feeling.
"Where's hyung?" Soobin thought about his brother being sent here maybe a decade ago after Limbo started 30 years ago. He thought he would've been living with his brother but seems like that's not happening.
"He'll come visit you shortly. He's somehow managed to date one of the creatures on the council here so now he's been assigned to a guard rank of some sort." That sounds like him. A total fuck boy. But hearing him date someone is totally new to Soobin and Namjoon. Soobin nodded regardless and opened the door of his new home. He looked back at the front where his ba stood, waving with his devilish grin before hopping back into the carriage. Soobin sighed, making his way inside.
It was not what he was expecting. Slightly expecting but still.
His home was your average rich family home for four, a modern interior with simple yet elegant furniture. Though everything was customised to black and grey, red stains there and then. It wasn't too far off from the cave Soobin lurked in for years. There were a few familiar plants from hell and some new ones he recognised but those new ones were dying so he couldn't care less.
Soobin took his time examining and analysing each room, not understanding the point of having so many rooms other than a bedroom, bathroom, lounge room and kitchen. There seemed to be over 10 rooms. Yeah, it meant it was a two-story building and how could you not be excited about that? Well. A demon from hell wasn't.
Soobin dumped himself onto the dark grey shaded couch, deciding to claim one of the rooms on the first floor, too lazy to go up and down the stairs. He reached over to the coffee table where a glass of water stood and he took his sweet, sweet time of drinking it slowly before a voice knocked into his head.
Little Shit
Soobin's eyes narrowed before glossing over. He met face-to-face with his alpha or inner demon. How ironic.
'What do you want?' Soobin rolled his eyes, not really wanting to deal with his alpha's angry attitude.
You really had to bring us out of our territory?! It growled angrily at him, the sound of it rumbling around them.
'Do you think we had a choice?'
Could've fought your ba off harder like your ma did.
'He ended up giving up in the end.'
Because you wanted to go anyway. His alpha hissed at him, not seeming to stop with the refutes. Soobin ended up blocking him, confining his alpha to the back of his mind. He was not going to fight him right now. Later, he had to head into the dark woods to meet his brother and he still hasn't sorted out anything like the time differences and where anything was.
He didn't get how childish his hyung was, probably aiming to play hide and seek in the dark woods, Soobin obviously as the seeker. Why couldn't his hyung just meet him here. For fuck's sake, if it wasn't for the fact that they past the dark woods(to Namjoon's request), Soobin wouldn't have known how to get there. He knows there are certain rules that all creatures have to follow, separate ones for the civilisations too but he hoped there was nothing about chaining up anyone's freedom.
Soobin laid there on the couch for a few hours, not caring about the time that was quickly flying past but soon enough the bright hot sun began to set, which meant it was time for him to search for his fucking hyung.
He stretched his long limbs due to his tall height, standing at 190 centimetres, outside his house after closing the door behind him. He had to admit the pretty hues of purple, gold and red that painted the sky following the sun closely, was a new sight to behold. But, it was still too much light for his eyes. So he shoved his hand into his pocket and pulled out his blindfold from earlier. He flattened it to remove previous creases before holding it up to his eyes, wrapping the length of it around his head and tying a singular knot at the back. That should do it.
The demon started to walk through the town or part of the world he was currently at. Walking by foot, his two feet, was a bit uncomfortable and tiresome but he'd have to get used to it. Whether he liked it or not.
With his heightened senses, he could hear people whisper and mumble about him.
"Look at that. We've got ourselves another demon."
"How the fuck is he that tall."
"Fucking bastards from hell."
"Kinda hot, isn't he?"
Of course, Soobin couldn't care less, his hearing picking up many sounds at the same time. He could also sense a lot of fear and cocky tension around him but that was expected.
Soobin was beginning to become breathless. His fault for being a lazy demon and hating to workout, preferring to do stuff with his powers. But only a certain amount of powers are not prohibited which sucks a lot for a demon who's been using his powers his whole life.
He froze when he was met with a steep hill, at the top of it lay the dark woods. He groaned. His legs were already jelly, he'd certainly collapse at this point.
