Yeonjun ran over to Soobin with a goofy smile, with light uneven steps gracing the ground. Soobin smiled in return, watching the faerie with a beating heart. When the faerie came closer the first thing Soobin noticed was the green leaves wrapped around two of Yeonjun's little pale fingers on his left hand; his ring and middle finger.
The faerie crossed over the stream with a leap and was about to greet the demon but Yeonjun noticed the unhappy expression on the demon's face. He followed his gaze down to his hands and he already knew what was wrong. Immediately, he put them behind his back in a way of attempting to hide it from Soobin, giving him a nervous lopsided smile. Noticing the way Soobin was quietly looking at him with questioning eyes, Yeonjun explained in a rush.
"Earlier today, I was with one of the fire faeries and he accidentally burnt my fingers while I was helping him to recover his ability—but it's alright! It doesn't hurt as much...as it used to! The faerie treatment from Beomgyu is starting to work now." When he finished, Yeonjun could see the flicker of red sparkling anger in Soobin's dark eyes, and in an effort to calm him down Yeonjun delicately placed his right hand on Soobin's check, smiling brightly at him, like there was no sun. "You don't need to worry about me, Soobinnie. I'm fine. My fingers all work too!"
Yeonjun tried wiggling his fingers beneath the cooling treatment of green leaves and earth magic but Soobin held his wrist. A stern look on his face; "Don't." Was all he said and Yeonjun pouted like he was denied candy and Soobin dropped his hand immediately, unsure of what he did to make the pretty pink moon faerie pout upsettingly.
"I'm really fine, Soobinnie. It was all an accident." Yeonjun's words were muffled from the way his lips pouted but Soobin was able to make out most of them. The demon, however, didn't really pay much attention to what the faerie had said, all focus concentrated on the faerie's hand. He took the smaller hands into his own and slowly took off the lime green leaves off his fingers gently. Yeonjun hissed as the leaves peeled off, his skin exposed to the atmosphere.
"May I?" Soobin slowly turned Yeonjun's hands around, examining the burns of blistering skin. Soobin frowned at the sudden memory intruding in his head of Jungkook burning his wrist for fun. He looked back up at the pink haired faerie with a small smile on his face. Yeonjun nodded confused but he trusted the demon strangely with their little encounters.
He inaudibly gasped when he felt his skin tinkle and saw how it sparkled, Soobin's gaze burning concentration on his fingers. Yeonjun was fascinated; he had never seen demon magic look so...beautiful. When Soobin pulled away, Yeonjun tried to ignore the longing feeling of Soobin's absence of presence near him. When he looked down he was stunned. His burns were all gone. Like completely vanished, no trace, no marks. No nothing.
His face must've conveyed all his thoughts as Soobin chuckled, answering him softly. "We don't normally have forms of healing in our powers but I found a way to create my own form to heal myself." Yeonjun nodded attentively, still absorbed by his hand but something felt wrong with the way Soobin had answered him.
"Heal yourself? Why? Did you get hurt a lot?" Yeonjun looked up at the demon, big doe eyes filled with worry. Soobin looked away to avoid eye contact. He really didn't like the way his stomach fluttered with something foreign.
He smiled gently, "I'm alright. You could say it's sort of a normal occurrence." The demon could see the hesitation in the faerie's eyes, unsure if what he said really was usual but regardless he nodded. The faerie didn't understand the 'normal occurrence' of what happens to the beings of hell since he rarely got himself involved with other beings that are considered 'dangerous'. Yeonjun believes that it's unfair to label some beings as evil or dangerous when some of them are really sweet. Some like Beomgyu are the ones against Limbo, mixing predators with new prey.
"Thank you so much, Soobinnie for healing my hand. I bet Beomgyu will be jealous when he finds out that you healed me faster than he did." Yeonjun flexes his hand out, turning it and shaking it. He's still in awe. Normally, it would take at least 2 weeks for the burn to heal and scars to fade. "But, I have to go now. It was nice running into you here though." Yeonjun smiles but it doesn't reach his eyes. Soobin's gut twists at that.
The faerie waves Soobin a goodbye, running again like he was in a hurry to wherever he needed to be. After he's out of the demon's sight, he turns to find where he is. He's in the woods, yes, but not in the dark woods or faerie territory. He must be somewhere in between or where all can be. Soobin looks back to the direction where Yeonjun had run off and he sighs. He hopes that he can see the faerie again and he knows his alpha does too.
Luckily for him, four days after Soobin had last seen Yeonjun in the woods. Yeonjun finally showed up where Soobin totally did not spend his days lurking where he last saw him. The two shared conversations (mostly of Yeonjun answering Soobin's questions of newly discovered things like the zones and areas).
Soobin enjoyed their time together but when Yeonjun appeared at the next meet up, he came bearing new burns every time, and every time Yeonjun would say the same thing about the fire faerie and healing doctor. Soobin frowned, he was beginning to dislike this 'close' faerie friend of Yeonjun's. Even though Yeonjun waves off the problem and tells him that it's alright. Soobin can't help but feel discontent with the mention of the fire faerie. Whoever they were, they are harming Yeonjun. Accident or not.
