We parked in front of my favorite place in the entire world
"Here? really?" i giggled
"Well i wanted to make the surprise special. And U thought you would like it.." Ben mumbled.
"Ben please, I love it. Now lets go!" said jumping out the car and running inside as if my life depended on it. The familiar smell of coffee and books filled my nostrils. Ben came up behind me and hugged me, then kissed my cheek and whispered
"Welcome to Barnes & Noble" He took my hand and intertwined our fingers like vines
"Come" He said leading me into the coffee shop. We got into the line and looked over the menu for what seemed to be six minutes. The line moved up and we came upon the ordering desk.
"Hi, welcome to Starbucks, what would you like to get?" the cashier asked happily. She had Brown mid-length straight hair. She had big dark eyes and eye-liner surrounding them. she was about 5'4 and she looked to be about twenty. She was smiling from ear to ear, why was she so happy? I mean shes at her job, dealing with really rude and annoying people. But I wasn't complaining. She was also pretty. I squinted my eyes adjusting them to her name tag. It read 'Samantha'.
"What would you like love? Its on me"
"Oh no. I can pay for a coffee, you already bought me dinner, and that wasn't cheap." I stated
"I could care less about my money. As long as I know I'm spending it on something important"
"I'm important to you?" I asked knowing i was blushing
"More than you will ever know" He said smiling
"AWWWWWWWWWWW" Samantha's voice rang out making me jump
"You guys are extremely cute. I couldn't help myself"
"Thank you" I blushed
"Your really sweet" Ben said
"Thanks!" she smiled back
"Okay look, I need to stop getting distracted oh my god" She whispered
"What would you like to get" She said a little louder
I couldn't stop myself from laughing. I was clutching my stomach. Memories fled into my head about how many times I had done that before. I like this girl. We could get along easily.
"Okay Okay i would like a hazelnut macchiato" Ben said
"And i'll have a vanilla bean coffee"I said trying to catch my breath
She looked down at the cash register smiling, obviously enjoying my fit of laughter
"That will be $30" She said smiling
I reached into my back pocket quickly trying to get out money but Ben had already put money on the counter
"Gotta be faster than that love" He laughed
I waved goodbye to Samantha, maybe I'll see her in the future.
We walked to a petite table and sat down. We talked for abut an hour about anything that popped into our minds. I learned a little about his past, and he learned more about mine, we talked about books, music, childhood moments, about our families, he told me more about 'Asking Alexandria' and I told him about Emily and Angel, anything really. I felt comfortable around him, enough to tell him anything.
we got up and threw our cups in the trash
"Come, I want to take you somewhere" he said as he held out his hand. I Smiled and took it. We walked into a little more than the middle of the store and walked into an Ilse. I caught a glimpse of the tittle bored 'teen section'. We stopped walking in the middle of the Ilse, he looked at me and I noticed that he was nervous and shaky
"What are we doing here" I laughed. He took a big gulp
"Do you remember this spot?" he asked softly
"Well yeah, i found 'Anatomy Of A Boyfriend'. OH yeah, and I met you silly" I laughed
He looked down and sighed. For some reason I couldn't stop smiling. I found this side of him cute. He looked back up at me and smiled with confidence. I had no idea what was going on or what what he intended on doing next. He tightened his grip on my hands and got on one knee.
Hold on. Lets stop a moment. let me go back a little. I met him three days ago. We went on a date, and I told him things I would tell only tell Emily and Angel, we've gone to a club together, and from there he's fingered me. he has seen me naked as well. And now, this is the second date.Were at Barnes & nobles. We had Coffee and now were here. He's on one knee and I'm here thinking all of this because I'm freaking out.
HOLY SHIT! WAS BEN PROPOSING!?! I'M ONLY TWENTY ONE. I was holding my breath and not a single gasp of air could come out of me
"I'm not proposing" He laughed. WHEW! I smiled back at him relieved
"Rachel, I know I met you only three days ago but every second with you is perfect. I feel as if Ive known you for an eternity.You make me so happy. I haven't been this happy in ages, you really have no idea. You make me feel all giddy and cute inside, and I never feel like that. Ive shown you things that you didn't know, and you told me things that took so much courage and willpower, I trust you and you trust me. If i ever lost you, id most likely cry. And I'm not a man of doing that. Ive never felt this way before. I cant explain it. You have such a big effect on me. You make me weak and when I'm near you, my heart beats so fast. I know its stupid but i need to say this Rachel. You are so beautiful, not even an Angel could compare to you. Well not that Angel but you know what I mean! I absolutely adore everything about you. You hate yourself and I don't understand why. You think your ugly, and fat but i just don't see it. You are a wonderful person. plus, you like hard core metal which is AWESOME. I just cant explain it. How you make me feel this way. But I do know one thing. Ive fallen for you" He stopped to take a breath. I had tears in my eyes, and my mouth was wide open with my hands covering it.
"Rachel, make me a happy man and, be my girlfriend?" he asked looking me in the eyes. I was speechless. I didn't know what to say. I wasn't expecting this at all. I was frozen. My heart was racing and my mind was going off
"Ben.....I-I" I froze again
"You don't have to say yes. I just needed to tell you" He said looking down disappointed. All I could do was laugh. He looked back up at me confused
"Are you serious Ben? I cant get it through my thick scull why you would think that i would say no. You make me happy and I trust you with my life. I told you things and you understood, nor did you judge me. You make me feel safe. So yes. I would absolutely love to be your girlfriend" I finally said
His smile grew from ear to ear. His smile was adorable.
"You just made me the happiest man in the world, and since your officially my girlfriend, i guess i can do this in public" He got hold of my chin and tilted it up kissing me passionately. This was perfect. Everything felt perfect.
