[Morning]
[Southern Queen's Palace - Bed chambers]
She slid the last hair pin into the Queen's hair and stepped back.
Gloriam: -smile- There you go. You look lovely..
Through the open window, Gloriam glanced while Marie stood and proceeded to make her way out of the room.
Her cousin then enquired
Gloriam: Are you going into the gardens today, Marie? The weather is fair and it's not too hot.
Marie: -sigh- Indeed, it is
Gloriam: The clouds are already arriving - soon the rains will too. Did you notice?
Marie: I did notice, yes. But no, I will remain indoors today, Gloriam.
Close behind her cousin she followed; sensing something troubled Marie.
Gloriam frowned but kindly said instead
Gloriam: Very well. I'll have some snacks and tea brought to you then

[Drawing Room]
By the piano Marie seated herself, sighing deeply before she slowly began to play.
When her ladies entered, they all quickly curtsied and bid her a cherry 'Good Morning'. Excitedly placing their various trays down and talking amongst themselves as they sat.
Contemplative, the Queen paused in her playing until gradually, they all fell silent.
With a sigh, she turned and asked of them
Marie: Is there any word on the battle? Did we receive any reports yet?
Lady in waiting #4: None yet, Your Majesty
Despondent, Marie queried
Marie: Surely by now. It has been over a week since they left
Lady in waiting #3: I'm certain word will come soon, M'lady
