Another chapter?! My, oh, my! I hope you enjoy it and I do hope it inspires you to get more creative in your life just like I did for Pete in this chapter.

Chapter 14: Creativity & Happiness

A couple of days later at Brew Blends...

March 2021

Pete decided to head back to work today and he is feeling so creative since coming back from New York with his girl, Alexis. Pete's co-worker's and himself have a brief meeting before opening this morning and he throws out all of these ideas for spring beverages. Pete understands that Spring isn't the most colorful for coffee and even tea beverages at Brew Blends. So he wants to do two coffee drinks and for the non-coffee peeps, a couple of tea infusions. He suggests for the coffee: a lavender vanilla iced americano with coconut milk (this one favored well among his co-workers), and a orange sea salt iced latte with almond milk. For the non-coffee peeps, he suggests an iced lemon hibiscus green tea and a blueberry lime iced white tea. All these ideas seem to work really well and his co-worker's applaud him for his creativity.

A few hours later, Alexis decides to stop by to see her barista boy working. He is so in the zone today it isn't even funny. She grabs her oat-milk flat white and decides to do a little reading before heading home for the day. Pete gets home around 5pm, and he tells his girl all of these ideas for work for future spring drinks. He brought home the coffee ideas for them to at least taste test.

"This is the lavender vanilla americano with coconut milk?" says Alexis."Yes." says Pete. "I like this one- it's different and unexpected- it's going to be a seller I can just sense it!" saysAlexis. "A lot of my co-worker's loved this one, too. The next one is a orange sea salt iced latte with almond milk. I hope you like it." says Pete. "I like the orange with the bit of salt and I find the almond compliments it. It's not too overpowering. I think this one will be good, too." says Alexis. "Thanks, babe for your honest feedback- we do have a couple more non-coffee drinks at Brew Blends: a lemon hibiscus iced green tea and a blueberry lime iced white tea. I got inspired when we went away to New York. I don't get inspired like this very often." says Pete. "I love when your creativity shines, babe." says Alexis. "You're my best muse." says Pete, going over to give his girl a big kiss. "I appreciate you." says Alexis. "Me too." says Pete.

"I cannot wait to come to your shop and try all of the coffee drinks you created. I love having a creative -minded person in my life." saysAlexis. "I cannot wait for you to come to try them. I like being creative anyways." says Pete. "What do you want to do now?"says Alexis. "Well, I would love to treat you for dinner because honestly I'm pooped from work today." says Pete. "How doesItalian food sound?" says Alexis. "Were you reading my mind?"says Pete. "It was just a lucky guess." says Alexis. "Let's go freshen up some and we can head out. Today's just getting better."says Pete. "It is. Any day with you is perfect." says Alexis."I'll agree on that." says Pete.

They freshen up for dinner and head to an Italian spot Pete enjoys- they split a wonderful pasta dinner and get some tiramisu and an espresso. Would this date not involve coffee? I don't think so. They enjoy each other's company and head home.

The next day...

March 2021

Pete has a busy day at Brew Blends with his co-worker's tasting and sampling all of these new spring drinks. They stay closed for the day due to that. Pete comes out later and he walks in to see his girl cooking dinner. He couldn't be more prouder! She made a wonderful vegan pad Thai dinner (even though neither one of them are vegan) and he goes over to kiss her. Gosh, how did I get so lucky? My girl cooked me dinner. Thank you, Universe, for blessing me with someone like her in my life.- Pete thought.

A week later...

March/April 2021

Today's the day Pete and his crew debut the spring drinks at Brew Blends. Pete hasn't been this nervous before but he knows these drinks will go as planned (knowing his wonderful creativity skills). A few hours later, Alexis drops by and tries the lavender vanilla iced americano with coconut milk. Pete smiles; she smiles; the rest is history. He comes home a few hours later from work and he's ecstatic to see his girl.

"So happy to see you!" says Pete, giving his girl a hug and kiss. "Me too- that lavender vanilla drink you created is so good- a little different but it's so good!" says Alexis. "I'm glad you came to try it! Gosh, I just love when these ideas stem out of me!" says Pete. "Me too; I'll have to come by and try your other coffee drink this week. Any excuse to see you is a wonderful excuse." says Alexis. "I would love to see you, babe. It would make my day!"says Pete. "I'll drop by tomorrow then. How does that sound?"says Alexis. "It sounds wonderful- I cannot wait to see you!"says Pete, giving his girl another kiss.

I just am so thankful for someone like her in my life. I cannot state it enough anymore; my creative side is flowing. I'm happy with how the drinks came out and the fact my girl has been nothing but supportive. Keep being my muse, and always keep being my girl.- Pete thought.
