Chapter 8: Life is Beginning to Feel Good

Chapter 8: Life's Beginning To Feel Good

Alexis awakes at her mom's house this morning and she sees that Pete left a note on her nightstand before he left yesterday. It reads: I'm glad to have met you, Alexis. It was nice getting to know your mom and the fact she was understanding with my parents' not being here anymore. I just thank you enough for being in my life. With that being said, I have a weekend off of work- do you want to go on a spontaneous road trip just the two of us? I would love to spend time with you more- just us. Let me know soon. Love you, Pete.

She is beside herself with this note and is more ecstatic about the road trip part. Her mom already left for work this morning (she's a manager at a store in the city) and Alexis' phone buzzes to read: You made your mind up yet? I'm not trying to rush you. Take the time you need. I get off of work in a couple of hours and we'll head to The Bean. Gosh I cannot wait to see you.- Pete.

Alexis responds with: I'll take the time to think about it- a weekend with you would be awesome. I cannot wait to see you either. I love your face. -Alexis. Her phone buzzes fast: Look out your window. I've got a surprise for you. -Pete. She sees Pete outside her window and it's a total romantic vibe; she runs outside to see Pete and hugs him and kisses him.

"You weren't supposed to get off this early." says Alexis. "I had a 10 minute break from work; I wanted to come and surprise you. I even had time to get you these flowers which is surprising because I never have time to get them." says Pete. "Thank you for the flowers; thank you, babe. This was nice." says Alexis. "Take your time about this weekend, okay? I've got to get back to work and I love you. I'll pick you up later for lunch and coffee." says Pete. "I love you, Pete. I will, thanks." says Alexis.

Pete rushes back to work and Alexis walks back in with her fresh flower bouquet her babe got her. She puts the bouquet in a fresh vase and makes herself coffee and a bowl of cereal with oat milk for breakfast. After that, she goes to get dressed and her mom buzzes her: How are you today? Pete stopping by?  She answers back:Yes, I'm good; Pete stopped by on his work break and brought me flowers. Surprised me out of the blue and even asked me to see if I wanted to go on a weekend getaway with him since he has off work. Is it okay if I go? Diana responds back: Aw, that was nice! Yes, you can go. I know how much he means to you. It makes me smile that you found someone like him. He's welcome anytime at my house. Alexis responds back: It was nice; okay, I'll let him know when he comes to pick me up today. I'm lucky to have met someone like him.

Pete pulls in a couple of hours later and they drive over to The Bean to grab coffees and lunch. Pete says: "How did you like your surprise this morning? Was it unexpected?" Alexis says: "It was; I liked my surprise very much. I did want to tell you I made my mind up about this weekend." Pete says: "You can go?" Alexis says: "I can. I'm so excited." Pete says: "Me too." They finish up at The Bean and Alexis has to grab her stuff from her mom's house she left and then she'll drive back to Pete's friends' house with him.

Flash forward to the weekend...

Pete drives up with Alexis to an Airbnb he booked earlier in the week nearby Seattle, WA. He parks to their Airbnb and Alexis is stunned at how beautiful the scenery is surrounding this place. They take their stuff in and get settled.

"Is this beautiful or what?" says Pete. "Gosh it is. I don't think I've ever stayed somewhere this nice." says Alexis. "I wanted the best for my girl. So, I think we should grab a bite somewhere if that is cool with you." says Pete. "Yes, let's do that." says Alexis.
