It's time for me to say how much I enjoyed writing this wonderful piece of writing. Even though writer's block got the best of me in some of the writing process, it ended up being the most beautiful piece I've ever written. I was inspired by a lot of things while writing this piece (ie: music and a wonderful guy friend that loosely inspired the barista part of my character Pete) and I'm happy to report that there is going to be a sequel to this beautiful piece I wrote. I hope you'll stay tuned for when I begin that new piece of work! Anyways, this is the last chapter for this piece- I hope you enjoy it.
Today do something good for yourself. You'll thank yourself later for it.
Thanks for reading this wonderful piece of writing!
Chapter 22: It's Time To Say Goodbye // Where Are They Now?
A week later at Brew Blends (Pete's now old stomping grounds)
Seattle, WA
September 2021
Pete's former co-worker's throw a going away party for him; he's a bit surprised when he walks in with Alexis. They have a whole buffet table filled with coffeehouse themed treats + drinks. He's over-the-moon excited about everything.
"You guys this is too much!" says Pete. "We know it is but Pete you have been nothing but nice to us. Your creative spirit, your sense of humor, and your ability to be a good co-worker- all of these traits make you the person that you are." says one of Pete's co-workers."Thank you for saying that; I appreciate it so." says Pete."Well, Pete we need to make a celebratory drink for you; the drink that made you awesome- The Pete special- the honey cinnamon latte."says another one of Pete's co-workers. "It was a good concoction; I'm not gonna lie about it; can you make it iced?" says Pete. "Sure, anything for you, Pete." says another one of his co-worker's.
His co-worker makes him The Pete special (iced per Pete's request) and they just continue to converse for the rest of the event. Alexis smiles at Pete and just has this thought: I'm so proud of you, Barista Boy and I cannot wait to see where life takes us while we are in London for your new job. I cannot wait to get married to you. I've loved you ever since I met you. I wanted you to know that last part in particular. It felt like I gained a best friend. I'm so happy I met you, Pete Smith; I really am.
They head home from this special event and the majority of Pete's co-worker's got him a special gift box to take with him across the pond. It ends up being a whole British themed gift box filled with all of the treats from the UK and even Taylor's of Harrogate Lazy Sunday coffee blend, too. Pete doesn't know what to do with himself after this wonderful moment shared with Alexis. I cannot wait to share this new life with you, coffee girl, in London. To be married to you is going to be such a treat. To love someone like you all the time. To cherish every moment together. I am so glad to have met you, Alexis Mitchell, and my life finally feels complete.- Pete thought.
Pete curls up with his girl and they watch a movie called Notting Hill together to get in spirit of their move across the pond. They look at each other and smile and say, "I love you." Both of them kiss, and finish off their movie then go to bed.
The next day in Seattle, WA
A nearby cafe
September 2021
Diana wanted to throw a small going away party for just Pete; this was Alexis, Maya, and Westin's idea. He didn't know what to expect! Everything was set up perfectly for this day and Pete couldn't be more grateful for his friends, his future mother-in-law, and his girl. They just converse and eat all of the British themed sweets that were made. A few hours later, Pete gets a phone call from that nice British man he talked to about a couple of weeks ago.
"Pete, how are you?" says the British man on the phone. "I'm well; how are you?" says Pete. "I'm good; I wanted to tell you that we are looking forward to your new job here at Double Decker cafe. You have a few new co-worker's that are looking forward to meeting you. When can we set up the hotel arrangements?" says the British man on the phone. "October sound good?" says Pete. "It sounds good. I know a good hotel for you and your lady to stay at. Finding a flat in the UK is gonna be tricky but promise me it'll be worth the wait." says the British man on the phone. "Thanks for the info; cannot wait to come!" says Pete. "Me neither; bye, now." says the British man on the phone.
Pete hangs up the phone and continues to hang out with the most important people in his life. I'm so looking forward to this new job! -Pete thought. They continue the small event for another couple of hours and everyone heads home.
A few days later...
Pete & Alexis's place in Seattle, WA
September 2021
Pete and Alexis make a list of what to bring with them to London (besides themselves obviously) and they get started on that. Pete's friends are nice enough to order dinner in a few hours later. He is going to miss their hospitality and them taking Pete in after his parents' died. Pete wouldn't know what to do without them in his life. They all eat and converse around the dinner table.
A month later
Seattle, WA to London, England UK
October 2021
Diana, Westin, and Maya all drop Pete and Alexis at the airport and they say their goodbyes before the couple make their flight across the skies. Now in the UK, Pete gets a notification on his phone and it's the hotel to where they are staying for a bit. Pete walks up to the hotel with Alexis and they think it's just breathtaking. Home sweet home.- Pete thought. The nice hostess at the hotel lobby says, "Welcome to the UK; we hope you enjoy your stay." Pete and Alexis say with a smile, "We sure will."
Epilogue:
Where are the rest of the characters now, you ask? Westin and Maya are still living in Seattle, WA and they were so inspired by Pete and the wonderful things he brought to the world. The both of them are taking classes to become certified baristas and go into competitions one day (maybe they'll run into Pete?). As for Diana (Alexis's mom), she has stayed behind also in Seattle and she made the ultimatum to not marry again. She wasn't sure if she could deal with losing someone else again. She is so happy for her daughter, Alexis and future son-in-law, Pete. She is excited to step in (in lieu of it being traditionally the dad) to walk her daughter down the aisle soon; she couldn't be more proud!
THE END.
